Hello to you all. Ive been crusin this forum for a bit now deciding on what i should buy for me and my family im 29 and found myself looking for something a little less boy racer ie previous ae82 4agze and 91 sx 4age loved em but time to move on not to mention got sick of the wife tellin me how embaressed she was every time a sss pulsar or bogandore wanted to race her(no offense to the above mentioned)
So looked round for a while and realized how spesh these libs really are
was quite impressed with the first lib i drove which was the 2.5 safety pack but being as passionate i am about quality i found myself sitting in a spec b gt...... wohoo loved it but i had to have a go of the 3.0 i found the 3.0 to be a bit of a jekkyl and hide type of car if u know what i mean i thouroughly enjoyed the drive quality although a bit rough (bilsteins i suppose?) it had plenty of feedback and felt like a real drivers car and on the other hand it could be real cruisy.
What got the 3.0rb over the line was a few things. one was the comparrison of the insurance quotes i got for both gt and 3.0 . Iwas alittle bit worried about fuel consumption but surely it would be comparible to the tj magna we had once owned .And i have a company car so the wife would be driving it most of the time anyway. So when a guy i know in the industry offered me a 2005 my06 silver 3.0rbspec 40,000 k's for24,000 +onroads i said where do i sign
The car will be in my posession next week i cant wait. Though i dont think any mods are on the cards as the handbrake(wife)surely will not allow this (see what happens)

Looking forward to sharing the love with you guys as this forum seems a lot more civilised than many others ive been involved with.

Welcome Dan,

Great car and a great price - can't go wrong! Well done.

I like your comment about the handbrake WRT mods! I share your pain mate!

Pity you've got a company car coz you're going to be jealous of your missus driving it all the time. :(

Enjoy the mad house.

There was a meet of Brissie owners a couple of months back one evening at the Hogs Breath Cafe on the southside.

There was also a detailing workshop one Saturday arvo on the northside
that also included a BBQ lunch.

My car has arrived in bris and upon inspection i found a couple of receipts left by the salesman showing that the tite arse was filling up on 91 ron he had put about 3k on the clock so i suspect he had used 91 the whole time.

Is this a bad thing ????

What a WONKA, 91 ron, how dare he defile you fuel system that way!! Its no big deal though, as long as you fill up with higher octane from now on. The 3.0 engines run pretty high compression ratios so theoretically you could run them on high proof Vodka - probably wouldn't be too healthy but 91ron is no big deal as long you don't rev too much.
By the way the handbrake (wife) you talk about - like all handbrakes the cable will stretch after a while. All in good time...
Welcome to the forum - they're a good bunch here.

Regards,
Osanda.

Hey Dan,

Good to hear your car arrived for you. Shame this WONKA only fed it 91RON, but at least you can rectify that from now with the proper juice.

Hope to see you around the traps mate !
