Someone yelled out, "Seek ye Liberty!" And I did..

Its true... I am as the thread suggests, a new member of the forum. Thanks for having me. So holler!

I am thankful there is such an Australian Liberty forum, as I have been searching for some time to find one where there are people who enjoy the Liberty over the Impreza/WRX!

I have been reading some of the threads and it is good to hear some common findings with the Liberty's driving performance and "attitude." I guess it's not good, in fact a little worrisome, but comforting to know that I am not the only person who experiences the stuttering feeling at low revs. Sorta like a cold shiver, like a ghost ran through the Liberty just as it takes off. I thought possibly, it could be dirty fuel, but I have always filled up with 98RON at a clean servo. I also felt that it happened whilst the engine was still cold... One time recently, a few weeks ago, it was a cold rainy night, the car simply stopped... mid driving, right in the middle of the road. The engine simply decided to shut off. I had to Park it and start the ignition again. Has anyone had that happened to them? Can the shudder be fixed, and does it affect the engine long term?

Another thing that was a concern was this short scratching/soft whirring noise whilst accelerating and cornering up a hill. Is that normal?

Anyways, I appreciate any feedback, I realise I brain dumped a bit here but like I said, thankful there is an Australian forum for Liberty lovers. I am more than happy to hear, and contribute if I can, any thoughts on possible mods one can do to their baby from those that are more experienced than I. (Whilst still being able to insure it...)

I currently own a MY07 Liberty GT... and dont really know what to do with it apart from enjoy the drive...

Thanks again for having me!

Welcome, freeman! Hopefully browsing through this forum will give you inspiration on what to do with it if you're short on ideas. But yes, it's a great ride out of the box already. :D

welcome to the website and enjoy your ride :-)

As others have said.. it's well worth your while to do a quick search.. you may find some answers to the engine shutoff.. otherwise maybe speak to subaru...

Plenty of people have modded their GT's so no shortage of ideas..

Depends how much money you have and what your after with your mods... ie; performance, looks, handling etc...

And also how much $$$ you gotta spend.. :)

thanks all. resonator removal? do you have a price on that gtspec and where to get it?

also... i dont know whether this has been brought up before hand, i saw the evo cop car thread...

but in brisbane/gold coast - did you guys realise that they have the GT Spec B running around as an unmarked cop car? they also run TRD Aurions (which are hot!) and of course the usual array of modded Ford's, Holden's and even a 380!

Absolutely FREE FREE FREE! Just takes about 15 minutes of your time if you're quick! 8) My type of mod! Although some people don't really like the extra intake noise, it also accentuates the stock BOV as well.. this and an aftermarket panel filter would do the trick nicely
