Introduce yourself

South African Legacy GT owner

Postby turbophonic » Sat Nov 25, 2017 5:11 am

Hi all,

I own a 06 Legacy 2.0GT (EJ20Y) BL5 model with 5MT. Have had the car for about 2 years now (my first Scooby!)

Thus far its been okay, the frustration is with parts (EXTREMELY rare and not very well known in South Africa, here they only really know Impreza's and Foresters).

Been coming to CLUB LIBERTY for a while now to gather some great information, thanks one and all.

Thought its time I register and say "Hi"!

Prodrive pff7 :good:

OP, in some ways Aussies are in the same boat parts wise, with eg UAE based Partsouq being a popular vendor here for affordable parts...
Also you can check part useage info (between individual legacy models and other Subaru models via eg opposedforces site :)

What's the originating market for your lib?
Jdm or eudm/adm?
Destination code should be in your VIN, if it's not otherwise distinguishable from the spec :)

Thanks again buddy! Great list of OEM parts.

Currently sitting with an issue regarding my clutch that has just packed up. Has been converted to SMF by previous owner...and now not sure what clutch kit to buy, as I have no idea what clutch setup the previous owner went with while he was converting it to SMF!?!?oo

Was looking at the Exedy Stage 1 organic clutch.......a good option? Will the 08 WRX kit work in my car? seeing as its now SMF? (apologies for this drawn out question...but I don't have much support for Subaru/Legacy where I live)
