Howdy boys, girls and others

Thought I would stick to the format from the sticky

Name: smythie
Ride: MY06 RB sedan, manual, atlantic blue
Location: Shiteney, Parramatta/Granville
Mod: stock plus spoiler
Plans: Aside from replacing the crap Nangkangs that were on it when I bought it, none at the moment - just drive and enjoy
Occupation: Maintenance consultant - heavy industry
Year of birth: 1980
Interest: Drive, driving games, riding (motorbikes, cycles), athletics, salsa (hmm, maybe I shouldn't list that one....)
Previous Rides: In order of most recent to least: Triumph TT600, Honda VTR250, VL Commonwhore, '80 626

As you can see, I have finally gotten myself a decent car. Got it a bit over a month ago. Looks like an ex fleet machine which would explain the cheap tyres on it. Gave me a little apprehension one day in the wet when it understeered a metre or two out of line doing about 50k's. Girlfriend was more than a little frightened though - not too keen on driving it in the rain until it gets new boots.

Am enjoying it immensely. Near new car feel being combined with a hell of a lot more luxury than I have previously enjoyed in a car is just fantastic (for me at least). Only problem is that the hire cars I drive every week (usually only in Shitney on the weekends) now feel like real crap - even the Calais I got upgraded to a couple of weeks ago felt ho-hum. Oh well, will have to find more work near home so that I can drive MY car

Having experienced the rate at which a half decent bike can gather speed, I'm not too concerned with modding the RB just yet, though down the track may look at bringing a bit more of that lovely purr into the cabin.

Cheers,

smythie

Welcome mate!

Hope to see you at one of the meets in the not too distant future... Then we convince you that modding is a NEED, not a want

Search the forum & I'm sure you'll find some very handy info about what tyres you should look at... You must remember, price isn't everything!

Welcome Smythie! Wow, sudden surge of 3.0's lately! A few more and they may even have enough for group buys! :P

But come out to one of the meets some time and say hi. In fact, come out to the one happening this Sunday at Shift Performance. They'll be some food and a whole lotta chat.

In fact, we should make this Sunday mandatory for all new Sydney based members! :D

yeah, Sydney isn't all that bad I guess. I've met a lovely lady here and a number of friends through the bikes as well. Also got a good job here (and the toys that it has allowed me to afford). Still, not as nice a place as where I grew up. I'm a country boy at heart, so kill me :P

working on pics - hate trying to host the buggers on the web somewhere
