Hi from Germany... other side of the world
You may wonder why I registered here? I own a 2004 JDM Subaru Legacy 2.0GT Spec.B and this forum is the only helpfull source I found. All the other forums are based on USDM or EUDM models. My japanese is not the best (i can't really read or understand it) so I found these forum. As I understand some of the Australien models are based on the JDM ones.
I won a japanese auction last summer and it takes nearly to months the ship arrived here in Germany. But it was worth waiting for it. Perfect condition, 96.000 kilometers, one small scratch... that's it.
The car already comes with some specs directly from Japan:
- HKS Hipermax coilovers
- STI pillowball bush rear suspension link
- STI front underspoiler
- STI Defi boost gauge
- STI 5MT gear knob
- Subaru Aero package includes rear underspoiler
- aftermarked front grill
When the car arrived we replaced all brake pads (discs were in good condition) and all end links. Someone fitted brand new Dunlop Sport Maxx tires in Japan so no need of a replacement.
I bought a pair of STI Genome mufflers in Japan and they went straight on the car. Could be louder but much better than before. Next step is to install the facelift rear (tail) lights and change oil. As the car drives more of 180 km/h (with a SLD installed or delimited by mapping) I bought a 260 km/h cluster in Australia. It will fit in a couple of weeks.
Germany is a LHD country but it is no problem owning, driving and register a RHD car. It's a complicated way with strictly noise, emission and tuning laws but it's done. It is registered from April til October so I must wait a couple of weeks for a first drive.
