Hey,

Just wanted to give a quick little introduction to myself. Last car was just recently written off so looking to purchase a liberty and wondering if anyone had some advice.

Looking at the gen 4 3.0r spec b.

Thank, Chris

Your choices are Sedan or Wagon.
Auto 0r Manual
Pre Facelift or Post Facelift

6MT Manual Wagons are the way to go!

100% the way to go if you're shopping.

Make sure you drive it for half an hour and check to ensure the coolant overflow bottle doesn't overflow.
If it does, walk away.

Also make sure you test out the car with the steering wheel on full lock and listen to noises.

Along with all the usual other checks that you might do.

Theres one just outside of my price range that's a 6sp manual wagon (the desired choice). But there's also a few sedans that are a decent km and price. To be honest I'm a little unsure of what the previous and post face-lifts look like. The 3 I have my eye on are 05-06 MY06

M&2005 and MY2006 are Pre Facelift
MY 2007 through MY2009 are Post Facelift.

The 10th Digit of the VIN (the character immediately beofre the G) is teh model year.
5 = MY2005 through 9 = MY2009

So I guess I'm looking at preface lift. I would love a wagon but all in my area are sedans. Are their any major differences that make the face-lift ones worth the extra cash?

The newer ones look less dated.
I don't think there is anything too different though, other than possibly fuel consumption due to AVLS.

I'd check out the same year range outback. Since they are pretty much the same car.

I picked it up on Tuesday. 2006 Subaru Liberty Sedan 3.0-R Black Sedan 6SP Manual. Its not the silver wagon that i wanted, but the black sedan looks amazing. Looks like its the pre-facelift. It was advertised as a MY07, but i dont think thats correct as its pre-facelift.
