Hi all!
Decided to start a member profile for me and my ride, the pride and joy in my life at the moment.

I'm Jake, I live in Victoria and my car is a 2005 Liberty 3.0R-B 6MT Sedan. I'm it's fourth owner but it is in mostly good condition, having received a lot of love in the first 8 months of owning it. This is my first car and I feel blessed to have such an awesome one, from the day I started working I saved until I could afford a 4GEN 6 Cyl Manual, it's everything I was looking for in a car.
Having bought it in August I learned to drive manual in it within a month and a half before my 18th birthday.

I bought this car knowing it needed some TLC after 168k kms on the clock, so I've been working to make it mine and restore some of the life it's lost due to it's previous owner's ignorance. The car's Obsidian Black Pearl paint has seen much better days.

She's now up to 186k kms and going strong. Looking after it has been somewhat easy as I'm an apprentice mechanic so my workplace comes in handy a lot.
Cars are my passion and my hobby, I try to be tasteful in my modifications, I've found trial and error is part of the process. I enjoy making my ride better and driving isn't just a form of transportation to me, as most members on this forum would understand.
One thing I believe to live by is the line between being a car enthusiast and a hoon, I never do anything I think would be putting other's live's in danger and do not consider myself an irresponsible road user.

Update 4/2/2017
It's been a long time since I've updated this, so here it goes.
She's now done about 207,000 kms and I've run into some problems but the Lib is still going;

-Shudder throughout the car in gears 1 to 4
-Lack in power before 3.5/4k RPM related to the gearbox problem
-4th gear crunches if shifted too quickly
-Fuel efficiency is at an all time low
^I need a new/rebuilt 6mt gearbox^
-For the second time since owning the car it now has white paint overspray again. Thanks to my workplace.
-Thanks to the workshop who did the 3rd cat delete, there's a loose weld and the exhaust constantly rattles.
-Recently discovered that my rear springs are almost definitely in upside down... for whatever difference it makes on King Springs anyway.
-LHF and RHR speakers are blown, the Sub also rattles at high volume, the driver's side air vent and door card rattle and drive me crazy.
-Oil consumption is a little bit high but hasn't been too bad lately, topping up about 300mls per week :D
-Coolant is magically disappearing, no it isn't in the oil sump, it's not leaking out, and the car doesn't blow any smoke... go figure. Topping up 200mls in the overflow bottle per day.

Mods/Customisation/Details to date: updated 4/2/2017

-Lighting-
6000K HIDs in main projector beams, led sidelights and license plate lights, 'white' led interior light, semi-dull red footwell lights to go with the red dashboard lights.

-Suspension-
Currently riding on stock Bilsteins with King Springs which dropped ride height by about 2-3cm front and rear. Polyurethane anti-roll bar bushings fitted, made a substantial difference compared to the stock rubber.

-Audio/Media-
Pioneer headunit and a makeshift/temporary 4 channel amp, swapped out the sub for another 8" laying around the workshop as the old one blew.

-Engine-
Tuned by Matt McLeod, made a world of difference in power/torque, overall smoothness and helped lessen that 'V-TEC-like' powerband, K&N air filter installed and intake resonator removed, tbSTI mufflers and 3rd cat delete. Running Flex-Fuel tune with DW65c fuel pump.

-Transmission-
Standard STI-style 6MT, with CorgiWerx short shifter adaptor which made a huge difference, and I can never go back now.

-Body-
Yellow fog lens cover because I think it looks better than clear, at least for now. Rota G-Force rims in Hyper Black (18x8.5). Painted calipers and rotors gloss Black. Lip Spoiler on boot lid.

-Grille-
A previous owner transformed the stock grille into a shiny metal wire mesh grille, which gave the car a strange appearance from the front, then another previous owner added a Subaru badge to that grille, and then I got it and plasti-dipped the grille black and replaced the badge.

-Tyres-
Currently Bridgestone Potenza RE003s in 225/40R18.

Future Plans/Wishlist:

-Lighting-
Full LED conversion.

-Suspension-
Coilovers, one day.

-Audio/Media-
All new speakers. All 11 of them.

-Engine-
When I'm off of my P's, headers and supercharger kit probably after a rebuild.

-Body-
Dent removal is a big one, unfortunately someone was very careless to the exterior of this car before I obtained it, so it's going to be expensive but worth it to get this fixed. Paint detailing.
Window tint, want to go darker.

I hope I didn't bore anyone with excessive detail, I'll keep this post updated as I make more changes. I'll add pictures in a separate post.

Thanks for reading,

Jake.

Plasti-Dipped the rims in Anthracite Gray + Glossifier - March 2016
I was skeptical to begin with, so I started with the spare wheel. I was very pleased with the outcome.

Calipers and Rotors painted Black - March 2016
This was necessary, the car looks much cleaner with gloss Black rather than dirty gray calipers and rusty rotors.

tbSTI Mufflers - May 2016
It's a tiny bit louder but mainly just makes a nicer note under load. And looks way better than the stock, scratched up mufflers it came with.

Overspray Removal! - June 2016
Somehow, this car had been cursed with white paint overspray more than once. It was all over the entire car, from windows to mirrors and every panel on it.
But after finally acquiring some 3M Detailing Clay and a free weekend, I spent a whole day using the clay, and another giving the car a proper good wax. 99% of it is gone, and the car is looking better than ever in the time I have owned it.

Low light, but still shiny.

New wheels! - June 2016
I was approached at trade school one day and offered some Rota G-Force wheels from an ex Liberty owner, I wasn't looking to buy at the time but I liked what I saw and they weren't in too bad a condition, and had pretty new RE003s already fitted. So I bought them. And no, I don't care that they're replica rims.
Perfect fit with no guard modification required, I'm loving them.
