Hello, just purchased my first ever Subaru from mostly hearing positive things.
5 speed manual, mainly using on highway with about 25% city use. It's got 99,000km on the clock and i am about to get my mechanic to service it.
I heard the clutches are prone to go on these but not sure when?

If you're taking the engine out to do the clutch, might be worth replacing the head gaskets at the same time as a preventative measure if they haven't already been done.

That will mean your timing belt would be done as well and should be trouble free motoring for a long time after that.

If funds don't allow for that, I'd make sure you are strict with coolant and oil changes.

I do an oil change every 5000km and coolant change more frequently than the service interval suggests.

Great car, nice spec b wheels.
Any other upgrades on it?

I won't be doing the clutch for a little while to come my mechanic on inspection said it was still fine. But will keep a close eye on it as i spoke to one guy who had his done at 120,000km. i thought that was early for a clutch to be replaced.
I have heard about the head gaskets so that is definitely something i will be strict with. I have already discussed with my mechanic to be doing the services every 7000km and am going to change the timing belt around the 110,000km mark.
Thanks for the info. As for the wheels and any other upgrades, no haha. I literally bought the car three days ago and havn't driven it much....yet :)
