New from Melb

Hi, Brent here, new to the forum. Live in Melbourne. Have got a new (few months old now) MY08 2.5GTB which has been tuned by STI - not an actual STI, but none the less they put their "Tuned by STI Melbourne" sticker on the back :) Am looking for some inexpensive mods that I'll notice a performance increase with, starting basic...

Got a dyno from Vinnie when I got my car V-Tuned. Looked to be 110 ATW and is now 121, so in theory more power than a standard STI for more than $10k less.

i've heard that the tune through docklands is good bang for buck for the H6 but not sure about the turbo pricing.. i haven't seen that particular sticker either, how does it actually look?

 If only melb if it all wasn't so far!!

I'll take a snap of the STI sticker when I get to work tomorrow, getting a service in the morning at STI. The sticker has a pink sti with black writing. Looks pretty good, but no genuine badge :-(

I got the V-Tune new with the car when I was attempting to get a better price as it was discounted with fleet already. The alleged value was $300 but I was of the impression it costs around $190 usually.

They did a dyno of it and I have a copy of that.

Unfortunately I didn't ever drive the car before it was tuned to I don't know how it's changed in terms of drive and fuel economy.

I get on average 10.7 or thereabouts with a mix of city and country. If I go for a long drive in the 100kmh on the freeway out of town I can average as low as 7.2, as I've managed that on a couple of long trips recently with aircon off. Pretty happy with that overall. Around town don't think consumption has been over 13 for the tank. Economy is getting better at 12,000kms. Used to drive H6 without V-Tune. Figures were more like 11.8 average mixing highway and country.

Welcome Brent! Hopefully you won't stick to that name for long! But technically can you really call it standard when you've already gotten a tune on it?

That's pretty cheap. Must be cheaper when accompanied with a vehicle purchase. Because I spoke with Eka (lib33rty) the other day and she got a quote of $880 for a V-Tune for her MY05 GT (auto).
