Hey all, new here with a facelift Gen4

Postby sleepingbeauty » Fri Sep 04, 2015 2:47 am

Hey all, I'm Alex. I drive an 08 Gen4 Liberty 3.0R Spec B sedan that's basically stock. I'm lucky enough that I have awesome parents who offered to go halves with me on buying the Gen4. I was actually going to buy an NA S14 originally but they didn't want me driving a Silvia after seeing them in action

Mods: none, stock as a rock
Plans:

- paint brake calipers
- remove intake resonator (DONE)
- HEL braided brake lines
- muffler delete with quad tips
- Grom IPD3/BT3
- blacked out headlights by HKS180
- tinted taillights
- Rota Gravel 18x5 +44 offset in gunmetal (yes, I know, the internet hates Rotas)
- Lower and slightly stiffer suspension (either BC BR coilovers or stock Bilsteins with STi springs)
- Ultrex front lip
- Ultrex CF rear spoiler

Info is all on my MightyCarMods thread: http://forums.mightycarmods.com/showthread.php?41140-Flat-6-Suby-awesomeness (am I allowed to link other forums?)
Occupation: full time undergraduate uni student, studying a Bachelor of Audio
Year of birth: 1997 (I know I'm a little young to have a super nice car like the Gen4.)
Interest: fixing old cars, turbos, hoonage (not on public roads  )
Previous Rides: 1993 BMW E36 318is. I also have a 1991 Toyota Soarer that I am VEERY SLOWLY building and restoring for when I get my full license.

Any suggestion on what mods I should do?

6 speed manual. Is it just me or are the gear ratios for 1st to 4th all really short and close together? I find myself shifting from 1st straight into 4th a lot. Also thinking about a tune, though I'm pretty happy with the way it drives right now, except for the rev hang, things get pretty jerky if I'm trying to shift quickly  I've heard good things about Throttle Happy Tuning.

Absolutely. Also - this is the 'long' ratio subaru box!

Yes, Matt (Kido tuning now) can sort you out.
