Hi everyone.

I have been a member of the forum for a while now, testing the waters to find all the information i needed to decide exactly which liberty i wanted.
I have, after heaps of searching, recently bought a Grey MY07 Spec B 3.0 6MT Wagon and i can honestly say i am in love.
This is not my first Subie i still own a 2006 Impreza 2.0R which i still love to drive (even though its had constant problems).
The extra power of the 3l and the 6 speed tranny is awesome.

Now the fun part begins... I am in the process of replacing all the fluids (engine oil, coolant, diff and gearbox oils, brake fluid and steering fluid) and having a great time chasing down a T70 torx bit HAHA. Mods are coming. Starting with suspension (the stock billies are a bit knackered), wheels and tyres (gutter rash on the stock rims and crappy tires), tune (rough power delivery), Exhaust, cat back and headers (make it sound nicer, de-restrict the engine), Maybe the new raptor ram air intake ive been reading about and brakes (another reason for new wheels). I want to keep it looking as stock as possible for sleeper goodness (apart from tips and brakes).

Name: Dave
Ride: MY07 3.0RB 6MT Wagon
Location: Glenroy VIC
Mod: None so far.
Plans: As above
Occupation: Electrician
Year of birth: 1988
Interest: Watch motorsport, play games, read forums for days on end HAHA
Previous Rides: first car was a 79 Corolla with a 5 speed manual conversion. Then the 06 Impreza 2.0r.

Cheers guys. Cant wait to start getting stuck in and contributing to the forum. I will put some photos up soon. It was way too hot to wash her today.

Dave

If you still need the T70 bit, happy to lend you mine, I bought it off ebay for $15 IIRC.
I work in essendon fields, so it's just around the corner.

Talk to Matt, aka Kido_Tuning, regarding your tune.

Cheers anyway mate I just picked up a slab from Dan murphys in essendon fields on the way home from total tools. My kc tools t70 bit arrived this morning. Just need to fit a new airbag to the old mans discovery first so I can get my jack out from underneath it. Then full fluid change.

Cool beans - what fluids are you using?

Penrite- HPR 5 5w40 Engine Oil
Penrite- PRO gear 75-90 Diffs and Trans
Penrite- Dot 4 brake Fluid (and clutch)
Penrite- Power steering fluid

Got them all cheap so that was a win. What is the consensus with coolant? Subaru stuff or is penrite or nulon okay?

Will do Manaz. Im not sure whether to go with XRT (ed) or kido ( Matt).

So I did all the fluid change ages ago and it all went well and easily except for the rear diff and the transmission drain plugs. The trans drain plug just rounded as soon as I put any torque on it so I ended up just taking the whole pan off. Which also allowed me to inspect the magnet ring which was all good (no big chunks). The rear diff plug was torqued so tight there was no way I could get enough leverage with the car on stands. So I ended getting my mechanics to fill that for me.

I also had to get a CV boot replaced and a couple of power steering hoses. All done.

I also had to replace both the tensioner pulley and idler pulley. Just got new pulleys from bearing wholesalers at $20 each.

Last Wednesday I replaced the NGK plugs with denso vkh20y plugs that I got from sparkplugs.co.UK. I also replaced both front AFr sensors while I was at it. I ordered these from partsouq who were great to deal with.

While I had the airbox out of the car I repaired the surge tank which had a big crack down the centre of it with some 2 part resin.

She seems to be running very nicely and using less fuel. The IAM is also maintaining a value of 1 now which is nice also. Learning view appears to be correcting much less knock after all this work.
