Back in a Subaru. Hi Y'all

Introduce yourself

Back in a Subaru. Hi Y'all

Postby gradg » Wed Aug 20, 2014 11:23 am

Hey guys,

Some of you may know me from the RSLC forums, I've been on there since 2005. Jesus, almost 10 years.

Anyway, bit of background.

Built up 2 GX-RS conversions myself all those years ago, white wagons. One thing led to another and I was going forward with a 00 outback V3 STI conversion that was done at AM Auto. Facelifted etc, lowered onto liberty suspension. Sold that a few years back now and have had a number of cars in between but have always loved the G4 GT-B.

Found the right one (a tonne of STI additions) after looking on and off for about 5 years and made my way up to get it.

2007 MY08 Liberty GT Spec B Wagon, 6spd Manual.

I've been lurking here a bit as a guest reading things up and joined when I had the car and gained interest in the Nexus7 install - which is going ahead soon, waiting on parts.

The car has had an Ecutek tune and is running 185kw ATW. Plenty enough for me at the moment.

I like to snowboard and take photographs.

I'm from Newcastle.

Cheers!

Not even sure a front STI lip would fit? Looks like it has some lip already on there.

Man, I really like that front strut tower brace.

Very nice car!

Very nice car mate, welcome!

I'm really liking that engine cover, who makes that? It does look like its some kind of custom lip on the front there, very aggressive looking I'm a fan

Welcome Graham! Another RS Liberty convert (I still have my wagon).

I am sure you are already in love with the Gen 4, a different beast from the RS but certainly more refined and because it's newer, everything should work! :)

Thanks guys!

Tim you're right about refinement, this thing just drives so nice. It's unreal having something that is so quiet on idle/coasting/cruising but getting that nice racey tone when i put the foot down. Way back when I wasn't keen on twin scroll, but the sound has grown on me a lot and now I love it.

Have just done a 50/50 BOV and Silicone intake, man the intakes are a little more involved than they used to be!

Grad yours shouldn't be twin scroll if it is MY08. I am trying to keep my hands off this one and do minimal bolt-on only mods. I am very happy with just a dump tune 3p and BOV.

G'day Stewfen. Been driving the old girl this week. I still have a video of you breaking your gearbox at Willowbank ;).

Hmmm, strange, up pipe is split from memory? It's a 2007 MY08? don't know if that changes anything. what would the turbo be?
