The rebuild will include a brand new still in the box short motor, with the heads being reworked. In effect I will have an engine that has zero miles on it. :D :D :D

YES!!

Quick update. Few upgrades taking place while we have the opportunity. Have found a supply of head studs to give more clamping force to cope with the extra power being developed. Also going to fit an STI clutch to help get the power down. The metal water pipes under the engine are going to be replaced as the existing ones were looking pretty rotten. Going to have a Depo gauge installed to monitor boost pressure, oil temp and pressure.

Can't wait to get her back. :D

Had this arrive today, which I will send on to API so that they can get the senders for oil temp and pressure installed onto the engine.

Head work is done, just waiting for the head studs so that the engine can be put back together.

Have acquired another part for the rebuild, it was felt safer to replace the inlet manifold rather than try and clean the existing one and run the risk of any retained debris finding its way into the new engine.

Looks like I'm not going to be able to use the head studs. The OEM head bolts are 10.3mm the head studs are 12mm. In order to get the block re taped to take the head studs it would mean dismantling the new short motor and then rebuilding it. So the cost for the head studs and rebuild and machining will be pushing £800, which would have to come out of my pocket and the budget is just not there. So will just have to make do with new head blots and head gaskets. :D

Thanks for the offer Matt, I will have to keep thecrevs below 4000 for the first 1000 miles so wont be seeing much boost!

Still waiting for them to put the engine together, which is getting really frustrating now. In the 4 month period shes been gone I have acquired a carbon front lip spoiler made by a friend of mine, a waist spoiler for the tailgate and now some smoked led tail lights.

Just want the car back...........now :angry2:
