Hi all!

Name is Ben (more commonly called Bennoz) and I just bought a near new MY12 GT Premo in manual. Only 8,000 kays on it.

Previous ride (parked behind it) is a twin turbo Mitsi FTO which is getting a bit too much for street use, so she's getting garaged.

Always liked the Libertys, wanted a B4 back in the day. Having a few go fast bits put on this new one, she's off to the workshop in Artarmon to get the STi quickshifter, strut brace & a set of the STi Enkies put on. After that a window tint & that'll do me for the moment. Well, at least until the warranty runs out & I can start winding the boost up!

Welcome Ben - noice choice of colour!

Be sure to check out Michael's (satogixxer) profile thread - a great example of a GenV sedan tastefully (both form and function) modded

sounds like we need another GenV themed sydney meet in the near term!

Hey that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking to do. Nothing over the top. Plus the Garage 88 isn't far from me.

So I take it these things don't require aftermarket computers to adjust the tune?

No nothing like that needed.

If you plan on getting any tuning done, just make sure you don't go down the EcuTek tune path as this will lock your ECU (as provided by MRT for instance. In fact, just stay away from MRT, period.)

There's a few options if you're looking for a tune, my top 3 recommendations would be:

Scott @ Insight Motorsports (dyno tune - via Garage 88)
Matt (KiDo tune) - very affordable with excellent results
MSR near Gosford - have heard good feedback about MSR

Welcome!
Blacktop is right... TT FTO would be very interesting!!

And can highly recommend MSR for your tune. One of the countries best.

Awesome, cheers! Yeah I've had dealings with MRT in the past, not so good...

The guy that tuned my FTO (which had a Haltech Platinum in it) was also up that near Gosford, iDyno was his shop. Not sure if he's done any of these though.)

With your Brembo brake upgrade, do they come off a Rex or some other Scoob? I did one on the FTO, pulled them off an Evo to do it.

Couple of piccies of her :) She's a bit of a mug to drive, 230kws at the front wheels & a bottle of happy gas in the boot, so she likes to torque steer you towards the nearest telegraph pole

^ Nice FTO - sounds like a bit of a beast!

Garage 88 sourced brand new Brembo's from Japan for me. Not the cheapest option - if you can get them second hand or off another vehicle I'm sure it would cost a lot less (but I'm lazy...).

Is that a standard engine configuration in FTO's?
I had no idea you could get a turbo... might think twice before having a go against FTO's now!!

Sort of. The standard FTO motor is the 6A12, which is a 2L 6 pot (N/A)

That one I've got is the 6A13, the 2.5L twin turbo version out of a VR4 Galant (or Legnum if you prefer.)

Essentially the same block, bolts up direct to all the mounts & the FTO box etc.

Ah yes.. i had a feeling it might have been a galant set up. Very cool!

Cant be too many like yours around then.
