Introduce yourself

Back to the Lib family

Hi all,
(sorry if this is too long!)
Firstly, a massive thanks to everyone for taking the time to help out other members, it is greatly appreciated!

So I was no stranger to the Liberty family after setting my heart on a 98 RX 5spd as my first real car at age 21 (the 84 canary yellow Corona wagon was my first car!). I had the Lib for 8 years, and only sold it as my girlfriend and I (at the time) didn’t need two cars, and she didn’t drive a stick. We broke up, and I bought a Corolla to see me through. My RX Lib was mint, and at time of sale, had the lowest k’s in the country for a 5spd (and has only been matched once when I searched shortly after), garaged its whole life (including previous elderly owner). Sold in Feb 2012 with 118,000, only mod was the JL splits, 6’ JL rears, 4*50 amp and Pioneer HU.

Decided in Jan I was over the Corolla and set my sights on:
Liberty Wagon, Manual, White or Silver ONLY, MY07 or 08 GT Spec B, Low k’s
Good luck you say? Pretty much! After 5 months of searching an MY07 came up in Melbourne so I jumped on it! All original, full service history and 55,000ks. Had it trucked to Brisbane.

Down side, it was kept in a car port, my rear spoiler and boot have no clear coat left, and he never kept the windows clean, the water marks are almost impossible to get out. Rest of the car is ok, inside is perfect.

Ride: MY07 Liberty GT-B Wagon 6MT
Location: Brisbane (south side)
Mods: Nil
Plans: 3’ dump and up pipe, some exhaust tips, and LEDs in the cabin, and the parkers (maybe). A tune is definitely on the cards, don’t care about max Kw, want the car to run smooth and be fuel efficient. I would love bigger brakes! Any other cheap but effective ideas would be well received 
Age: 31
Interests: I cycle, hence the wagon choice
Previous rides: 84 Toyota Corona wagon, 01 Corolla liftback, 98 Liberty RX sedan

I still haven't detailed it fully yet, so this is it raw after a wash (I have attempted the windows, still not happy with them).

Welcome mate! Good to see some more QLD members, wagon looks tidy. Pity about the clear coat though, it must have been in full sun most of the day every day?

There is a meet on Saturday, if you are interested.
