New Owner: would love some tips/advice...

Ride: 2007 Liberty 3.0R Spec.B Wagon (Auto) (Dark Grey)
Location: A.C.T Belconnen area
Mod: All stock.
Plans: Thinking of getting exhaust, ecu upgrade and rims when I need new rubber. Would love some tips, advice or ideas of what anyone else has done and how it has changed their car.
Occupation: Security Officer at Parliament House.
Year of birth: 1992, so turning 21.
Interest: Absolutely love my football (soccer) am a goalkeeper, support Man U, music, movies, cars, motorbikes...
Previous Rides: 2003 Mazda 323, 2006 Mazda 3 sp23.

As I am new to Subaru and Liberty's I would appreciate any info you guys could share with me as to how to maintain the cars and what to keep an eye out for. Also if you know of any one in the A.C.T who is good for exhausts and ecu's etc... Thanks in advance

Firstly - Welcome Keegan!!

Nice choice in car.. its a constannt debate on here, but i think the wagons are so much nicer than the sedans.

The H6's sound great with an exhaust so you should defintely go through with that. You dont need to upgrade your ECU, they can retune your current ECU. Im not sure what sort of power gain you can get with a tune on the H6 engine, but most of the guys on here seem to do it so there must be some gain.

Welcome!

You can do exhaust in stages, so mild would be just swapping out the muffs (which I've done), then next up is a catback system and then if you want the whole hog then you get new headers/hiflow cats, but this can be pretty exxy.

Heaps of choices for rims too, check out the wheel thread, got heaps of different styles :mrgreen:

Yeah sorry I meant to say get it remapped instead of whole new ecu.
With just putting the muffs on how did that change the sound of your car?
When I save up some more money and decide to get the work done I will surely have a chat with him.

the mufflers do have quite an effect on the volume of the exhaust note
I've gone from stock, to 2.5" straight through (not too loud to be un-comfortable or annoying) back to WRX STi mufflers (a little louder than stock)

I just put a set of TCP quad muffs on my car. Not only do they look awesome, they also bolt straight up in 10 mins

As for the sound of them, I'm really impressed. Defiantly not loud, but have a nice rumble to them.

Firstly, good choice on the wagon!

Following on from what Rob said, Mick at Techworkz is also the ACT dealer for TCP Exhausts so he can hook you up with a good exhaust system.
