Hey gang

Mid 40s, unexpected new baby coming, was sent out by missus to replace our Suzuki swift sport, because it was no good for pram and kids.

Spent a few weekends tyre kicking ford territory, toyota kluger etc. did a carsales search for wagons around $40k and ended up at a MY12 Liberty GT wagon, ex car co. MD car, 10,000km. Drove it, loved it, said I'd buy it, but another dude had just put a deposit on it as I arrived back from test drive.

Then 2 days later the buyer hasn't been able to get finance, so I said let's go ahead. Went straight out and traded the old car in on the Liberty.

As I jumped in my new car, it occurred to me I'd only had a 5 min drive in it, no mechanical inspection, was relying on dealer honesty (ahem) and started getting nervous.

All nervousness gone 3 days later after a few spurts round town. Holy sh*t these are a great vehicle (preaching to the converted here). I'm like a 17 yo on learners again, trying to find excuses to drive places. 0-100 in less than 7 secs in a station wagon. Amazing. Subaru quality makes it such a good experience.

Pleased to be a new card carrying member here. Thanks for having this forum online!

Cheers
Carl

Thanks so much for the welcome guys. Sounds like I'll have to fit sway bars to be allowed to stay ;) So far the only addition is tinting of front windows to match the rear privacy glass... looks better :) I'll keep an eye out for the brissie meet and pre arrange a leave pass. Pics coming soon :) thanks again!

+1 welcome and congrats on your purchase

+2 swaybars and upgraded lower control arm bushes

You'll find that GenV has a bit more breathing room in the back to fit the new baby seats

.................. Wagon FTW :D
