My name is Dylan, and I drive a 1998 Liberty RX Bilstein edition. This is my first car and I was lucky enough to go through the experience of spinning a big end bearing (and blowing a piston) in the 2.5L NA engine that was in the car originally, I owned it for 6 months and did about 30,000k's on her.

As some of you who visit Ozliberty may know, I did a turbo conversion on the car, on my front lawn. I took photo's of the conversion and have them hosted in a Flickr photoset, here. The running gear I put in to my car was from a MY96 JDM WRX, and I replaced the gearbox, rear diff, ecu, wiring loom and engine. The loom was prepared by Al (from AMAuto).

The overall conversion took me quite a while, with money being a major factor in this. I was also at the mercy of the weather due to it being done on my front lawn. I work in IT, so undertaking a job of this nature was very new to me, however I did enjoy doing it and I would do it again (not on the lawn though) as I've always had a love of cars.

I've done a few cosmetic mods to the car, most recently fitted some projector headlights (from the later Legacy models in Japan) and also put in some HID lights for the new projectors:

There are a few issues with the car that I've got to sort out, however the next major mod will be to get a FMIC fitted, and ditch the top mount along with the bonnet scoop.

I enjoyed meeting some of you guys at the Hooters meet in Feb., and some more of you at the 'gong cruise just gone. Look forward to seeing some of you guys at the March 2008 Hooters meet!
