I'm New!!! Looking to buy - Advice Appreciated

Hey All,

I am looking to buy a car for my girlfriend and myself as we are expecting our first child.
So far all we have been able to agree upon is either a Subaru Forester XT (SG series) or a Liberty (Spec.B or Tuned by STI - both Wagons).
Whichever car we get it must be an automatic and leather seats is preferred. It will be the daily driver for carrying the kid around.
I have chosen those vehicle's as they will keep a moderate amount of performance and is an excellent compromise for carting ourselves, a kid and all of the things the kid would need whilst driving or being on the move.

Our previous cars were a Skyline, 200SX, Monaro CV8, Custom 2.5 WRX STI, CRX and a 2JZ Soarer.
Currently we have an Accord Euro (2004) & a Suzuki Swift (2007).
I would love to get a complete car so I wouldn't have to do any modifications (CAI, Rims, subtle bodykit, STI scoop, Slightly lowered, whiteline kit).

The long and the short of it.
Does anyone know of a quality car (either of the above 3, Foz preferred) for sale at a reasonable / fair / respectable price? (*or possible trade plus cash for one of our existing cars but outright purchase is not out of the question*)
Could anyone offer advise in either purchasing a car or any general advise for buying, servicing, owning or common problems and what to expect for repairs ($$$$$ wise).

Budget is fairly healthy too. Not wanting to state specifics but the right car will command the correct price.
