Not much to really say (willing to). Project is titled 'Project Enigma' and has been around for a while (see supraforums.com.au).
Engine is from a Toyota Century, and has been in the works since 3/4 2006. Unfortunately (maybe not so unfortunate) Top Secret beat us... more power to them. ^_^
We (I) don't care care about it too much. We're going for a completely different style of car to what they've got going. I don't think they've finished yet either, with the launch of the new GTR, I'm sure more resources are being pumped into that.
The Supra as current is a 1997 SZ-R, but asside from the 'shell' nothing will be standard. Because of what we're doing, I am / We are building custom subframes for the rear and front to allow for the new design suspension (will be remaining secret for now, until the whole chassis has been completed, expect mid this year, to 3/4). What I will say, is that right now, we're looking at a transaxle layout gearbox, most likely supplied from Quaife, though we haven't ruled out other suppliers either. This all depends on how well we can mate it to the engine as well as finding or fitting an appropriate prop shaft from the engine to the gearbox.
In any case, putting a little more weight in the rear won't hurt the over all balance.
Engine is currently sitting on a pallet at the 'workshop' which will remain annonymous for now, to prevent 'gawkers' from disrupting them, but they're definantly qualified to work on such an engine.... Because I'm quite frankly not able to work on engine internals myself.
