Just joined so thought I'd start with a hello.. so Hello !

I just bought myself a 06 Liberty and i'm keen to do it up a little, that's why I joined the forum. Hopefully I can learn and share with the knowledge

From the looks of your avatar it would seem you have an MY07+ Which is good because if you're serious about modifying it, look into a tune. If i could it would be on top of my list!

Yes. The difference between MY06 and MY07 is quite vast when buying certain parts. Your car will be a late 2006 built MY07

Oh ok.. well my plates say 10/06.. how do i know for certain its actually a MY07 not MY06 ?

But seriously, the actual way to tell is look at the 10th character on your vin, it'll be a 7 which means MY07. True story.

It was sold as an MY06, but maybe the previous owner didnt know.
Its there somewhere I can look on my vehicle or on the net that will help confirm ? I just want to see for myself is all.

Thanks by the way, I would have been none the wiser and called it an MY06 forever lol.

It also looks different to mine, which is definitely MY06 Same thing happened to me, It was advertised as an MY05 2.0i

Nice trick Zach, I shall test it out too!

Find some pics of MY06 & MY07 and look at them side by side.

Once you see the differences it's easy to tell them apart from looks.

Yeah. If you can see the headlights or side mirrors (indicator) there's no question.
