Hi guys,
Name is Johnnie from Melb, VIC.
Just joined this forum as i will be looking at getting a 4th Gen Liberty GT Spec B 07-09. This will be my first Subaru and my first forced inducted car. I really like this gen of the Liberty, balance of luxury and performance. Actually spotted a black and silver one in my area driving together not long ago. Been a Toyota owner for the last 7years, current ride is Corolla Levin ZR 08'. Time for an upgrade. Looking forward to learning a lot and meeting some good folks sharing the passion.
Hoping to pick one up in the short coming months. Was wondering if there was anything i should be looking out for? Any extra wear and tear issues other than the norm? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hoping to return with some good news soon

^smart. Check it!
Make sure you don't make the mistake and buy a sedan. You'll regret it

Welcome

No you won't... Unless you want to sleep in your car, put a bike in it, put large objects in it or put roof racks on it. All of which I'd like to do

Still got my heart set on a sedan. Im not a fan of the shape of the wagon (sorry wagon peeps). I couldnt find 'Coyotes' ride?
Like to buy a stock one, clean slate to start with. Looking at a few atm.
Looking at around mid 20K mark with 60-70xxxkms on the clock. Manual of course.
So anything i should be checking out when inspecting?

You should be looking at Coyotes car. It is in the for sale section.
Edit: I did read the bit about not wanting a wagon, but you are wrong, you don't know what you want.

You're better off with a sedan. All us cool cats drive sedans.

If you still want to see what his wagon looks like, page 2 I think...
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=16860+1 for sedans XD

I checked out Coyotes wagon. Looks like a great ride but unfortunately for me a wagon would be wasted space for me to buy and not make good use of. Looks like a lot of effort was put into that car. Theres so many wagon lovers. Lol
Theres just something about the sedan shape that i find so appealing.
Would of loved to have found a decent Tuned by STi Liberty but theres none that matches my criteria for the right price and is well taken care of.

Hey guys,
Just a question regarding wheels im looking at for the future Gen4. Im looking at getting a set of wheels (wont say what yet) 18x8 +35 running 225/40/18 tyres. Will this offset scrub and require guard rolling? Offset choice is either +45 or +35.

Get the +35's.
You won't require guard rolling with a 225/40.

My +35's scrub with 225's, at standard height.

Aren't your wheels 8.5 inch wide?

If it were me I would get 18x8 +45.
I would say +35 will scrub.
Although it depends on ride height. At stock height the +35 might be ok.
Mine scrubbed at 7.5 +45, although I have 235 tyres and it's really low, which accounts for the scrubbing.
I figure I can go about 10mm more if I want but might have to slightly raise it.
Plus my yards are rolled and pulled.
A number of guys are running less low with 8.5 +44 or +45 and it looks good, although needs guard rolling.
I'm on the lookout for 7.5 +35-40, 8 +40-45 or maybe 8.5 +45-50.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I think i'll be going for the 18x8 +45 and if guard work has to be done in future then so be it.
Will be inspecting 2-3 potential Libs next weeked, hopefully can score a deal.
