Hey guys,

After participating in the last two VIC cruises, i though i should post up my ride and start contributing to Liberty.asn instead of just using it for finding VIC meets haha

This is my Gen 3 RX Liberty, thread is been copied over from Subyclub so enjoy!

It's a 2000 Gen 3 2.5 RX Manual which i purchased through family friends very cheap. It came with 138,000 K's, full Subaru service history and a Christian Rock CD in the CD Player.

Resonatorectomy for a couple weeks, but sounded s**t when new muffler was installed (Too much noise from engine, couldn't hear zorsts)

Reco'd GC8 WRX (I Think) Centre Diff, as the OEM one decided to spill its insides everywhere and had to be replaced

That's about it for now. Currently chasing a vibration/ fluttering somewhere in the steering. Had the pump flushed 3 times and replaced with new fluid. Still does it. Here's a link to vid of the noise if you can hear it. Would love to sort it out if anyone on here has had this issue.

Nice work mate. Can I asked what you used to remove the rubber strips from the bumper? And how hard was it? Cheers

Thanks mate. I just used a heat gun and like a paint scraper with a sharp edge. Just be careful not to bubble the paint by overheating it with the heat gun and be careful not to dig into and scratch the paint with the scraper. Any left over residue should come of with a solvent. I can't remember what I used now. Maybe metho or thinners. Thinners wi eat your clear coat away, so try not to spill it everywhere haha. Finished it up with some cut and polish and a wax.

Yeah, i have been stalking this forum for ages now. So thought i would post some knowledge I've gathered over the past year or so on Subaru's, specially Gen 3's haha

I may be struggling to remember you/ car from the cruise, hopefully will catch you on the next one so i can put a face to the screen name!

Funny you say that because I'm falling for the post face lifts! A mate has a post face lift B4 and i seem to find the grill, lights and front bar much nicer than mine.

BTW I've heard fishing line is also good for removing those strips and might be safer than the paint scraper.

Thanks Stu! I've just finished reading your build thread too haha I must say. Love your Gen 4. The green fog light mod looks great against the black.

Oh man i can't believe i didn't think of that! Would have prevented me from making little marks and bubbles in paint from not been careful enough with the scraper and heat gun

I also used fishing line but it was too thin and kept breaking

Could possible use the small 'E' steel string from a guitar, would jut have to be a little more
Careful then using fishing wire.

You might slice your fingers up using that! I'd just use a 10lb fishing line. The one I used was only a 6lb
