Hi guys,
My name is Scott, Im from Melton, vic.
I own a 2001 Subaru Liberty RX ( Gen 3)
Only had a few months, when i brought the car it only had 99600Kms on it.
It has now 109000. Just serviced the car my self, excluding the belts. They are getting down by a mechanic next week.
The car is standard, except for the cold air intake and the oil catch can i have just fitted.
Hope to have some pics up soon.
Im would love to find a set of extractors/ headers for it. search a few places but havent really come up with anything.

Welcome. Low kilometers for that age car!! I would like to see pics of your cold air intake. Did you make it yourself or buy a kit?

Welcome Scott.
You may have to box off that pod filter... When time permits, post some exterior shots of your car.

Thanks.
Only problem is that i have noticed a loud ticking sound when i accelerate hard. It doesnt happen when its parked in neuteral , or when i press the accelerater evenly until i get the rev's up. Have read a couple of threads on here, where guys have suggested it maybe the cv joints. I my self thought maybe it might be an injector. but since it doesnt do it when parked , it could be the cv joints. Any info or suggestions would be a great help.

Go to an open area. (Empty carpark or large caul-de-sack) Drive around in circles a few times in each direction on full lock. Doesn't have to be fast. If you hear a ticking noise, chances are its your cv's.

you would have noticed your CV joints before this point. your CV's start making clicking noises when you turn THEN after that when they start getting really bad they will start clicking apon acceleration, check your boots to see if any are split as it could be an under greased/ dried up joint. on a large list of things it could be exhaust leak in the manifold, gasket failure, apart from that it could be valve train noise such as a lifter, rocker arm or other cam-driven components. check your oil level
id get a mechanic to have a listen.

Well had the mechanic check out the noise. Its not the CV's and its not a valve. he thinks its just the injecter clicking sound being amplified by the intake its on the car.

hey mate, with the oil catch can, did you have to connect 3 tubes or just 2 into a Y joint?

Hey,
I connected the 2 pipes from the cam cover with a Y joiner. then onto the can. The other is from the intake manifold to the can.
