Welcome and good work for a (potentially) very nice first car. My first car was only 3 years younger then i was and it baby poo brown and it was bought for $800, mazda 929. Loved it tho, so you will love the lib.

Besides a tidy up. Any future plans for the mighty gen iii??

Can't do much much on the P's but I was thinking of iridium spark plugs, yet to see if these are worth it, planning on getting some coilovers however pretty broke at the moment hah so I might just go with low king springs.
Would really love an exhaust set up with the borla headers and high flow cat exhaust but I'm on my P's and I don't want to get done! Appearance wise might just get some silver rota grid r's and just a front lip

Don't own it myself, but it was my choice. :) I can't keep it for Ps though since it'll cost way too much for an 18 year old to run lol. Sounds like you have yours all planned out.

Ah shame, love that model it's so nice. I've got a few plans but with that comes money which I don't have. The car was originally from Tasmania so we have to get the registration transferred and pay for rwc, wish it was all done so I could
just move onto using money on the actual car itself lol. What are you getting when you turn 18?

Ouch, would have taken quite a lot of time on top of that too, but at least you've got yourself a reasonably clean and late model RX. You've clearly gone to great lengths to find a good buy.

I'm stuck in a catch 22 situation, and my parents will not help me with buying a car and/or getting any sort of licence. I'm stuck on Ls now until late Sep-ish and I can go and get Ps on auto, but I don't want to be stuck with that **** for however long the P's are, and I won't have a car to drive anyway. Or, I can go and get lessons for manual, and pay however much to learn, and get Ps with manual, and then have no chance to buy a car since the money spent on lessons will be taken away from the car money. However, the catch is, I can keep the Lib if I want to without any cost, but there's no chance I can afford to run it and I think it'll be too much for a P-plater anyway. My parents are only willing to buy me a car for <$1k all up, lol, and I'm not allowed to work until school has finished too. In other words, I'm going to be car-less and/or P plate-less either way, which sucks.

Why are you so convinced that you won't be able to afford to run the Lib? How much driving are you planning on doing?

(also, welcome Yohann - apart from the few obvious bits there, looks like you got yourself a rather tidy buy :))

I technically don't need a car since I'm based in the outer fringe of the city area, and there's plenty of public transport nearby (I've got a train station about 400m away, trams around 200m, and buses around half a k away) so they're relying on me taking that. Paying for that? Well I don't know. I won't be able to run the Lib, let alone any car, since I have $0 to my name and I can't work.

I'm not exactly rich, I don't even have a job lol but I've been saving like crazy for about 2 years and it finally worked out for me, I also suck at manual! I've only had a few lessons but taking off is so damn hard and the liberty that I bought has a heavy duty clutch which makes it even harder for me when I try to drive it, but I am getting use to it. Why not try and find a good deal on a car, and then practice in that for manual which is what i'm doing because the guy was charging heaps or is there no one that you know that drives manual?

It's great to hear that you've saved up and bought yourself something nice, a lot of people I know can't save up and just end up using their money constantly and wonder where it went. How are you going with your Ls so far? Did you start on an auto or something else and now you're in the Lib? Or are you starting in it?

Not a single person I know has a manual any more, and my mum is the only reason the Lib we got was an auto (and now she's never driven it on her own, and she can drive manual perfectly fine anyway). Buying a car is not an option. I'm trying to persuade them to sell the Lib but I won't get anything out of it anyway, so may as well keep it.

I use to waste money like crazy, on pointless stuff, wish I could get it all back, but when I started looking into cars and being serious about getting one thought I'd start saving haha.

I've done about 40 hours on my L's so far and a lot of it has been done on my mum's auto falcon, I'd rather drive manual but I need to master it first and once that's done I'll use the liberty to practice in with my brother. But either way if you
get you use the liberty your mum has and it's auto I say go with it, love that model!
