Hey guys, my name is Shav. Just purchased a low km MY07 GT Spec B this week and love the look of it.

I have had one Subaru before, an MY01 GX wagon which did its job well but didnt have boost. It was a great car and I sold it for a Ford.

Anyway, after nearly 5 years out of the Subaru world, I'm back and just love what the Spec B's have to offer.

Hoping to learn a bit while Im here. Will go and see the guys at S&J Automotive in SA very soon for them to have a look over the car for a warranty inspection. Make sure all is in order.

Hi Hamish. Probably not a lot. I want to keep the mod bug at bay. I have had a life of modding every other car I owned and I would like this to remain relatively stock if I can. That being said, an MRT XA kit wouldn't go astray for better economy/power.

This car is on a novated lease program so it would be foolish to go stupid on the car. Probably the reason why I did lease it, to help stem the temptation to mod. LOL

I'm sure once you have a bit of a search on this forum you will be back at S&J in no time. Look forward to the pictures when you take delivery

After doing some research, I have found out that the car I bought wasnt a Spec B.

Not happy about it I called up Subaru dealership about it, stating what to look for on the car. I noticed the front bar, lack of sports pedals was the first give away. Not being savvy about Subaru's in the first place I didnt pick it up until I was checking out some other examples on this forum and the contract was signed.

Just waiting for the dealer principle to call me back on what he can do. Not holding my breath.

Sorry to hear about your recent discovery...I guess they should be somewhat accommodating given that false advertising is a punishable offence and as a Subaru Dealership, they should be aware of their own models/specs [insert random vitriol here]. Good luck!

Thanks Corsair. I ended up cancelling it till I could calm down and work out what I was going to do. Had a look around at other cars. Found there wasnt many with the same low kms and same physical condition this one was in, so I had a good long hard think about it, thought about what the major differences were with that car and a genuine Spec B and thought I can live without the upgraded suspension and pedals and that I could upgrade those later on if I wanted, so I went back, renegotiated and got them to throw in 12 months rego on top of the same deal for the trouble.

Pick up the car on Tuesday.

Wow what a way to get back into the subaru family. A dealer should know there own stock!! As far as the spec b stuff that can ALWAYS be modded to better and give an even bigger smile.

Thanks mate, its a bit of a round about way to do it, but yeah I can do the handling mods later.

You've got Spec B wheels, makes you wonder if it was a dodgy by the dealer or they genuinely made a mistake. Auto or manual?
