Came time to change my "work car" and now its a "new" demo 2011 Liberty GT 2.5 wagon auto....

paid $50K plus duty, plus lease shortfall on the last work hack.

Pretty happy so far. Got it Thursday night, now about 370km on the clock, including 60km on test drives.


Was a tossup between a 2./5 turbo and the 3.6 but the 2.5 won on price and performance (I had one of the first Mazda 3 MPS prior to a boring 3 years in a TD X-trail).......


So now I have the Lib GT. Work has me on the road constantly throughout Tasmania, I'm everywhere from Burnie to Hobart every fortnight, and in Smithton at least monthly. The last 2 months, I've averaged 3K km per month...... and if you're a local. thats more than many do in a year.........

Im sure there's plenty of twisty bits in Tassie to have some fun on - fun factor would be amplified if you invest in a few simple suspension mods (nothing over the top - bushes, springs, and swaybars)

If the weather lets up this weekend I'll wash it and take some pics.... Went away last weekend in my other toy for the long weekend up into the bush.....

Other toy is a 1998 Nissan GU Patrol that is heavily modified..... owned it over 11 years now and about the only things not interfered with are the rear diff, gearbox and engine block..... Went bush in that, drove some tracks that stopped a stock Hilux or 2.....

2 weeks in with the Suby and I'm happy. 1750km on the clock now.

GenV GT wagons ftw!!!

Mine goes quite often (but not as often lately thanks to health problems) including a lot of offroad driving and the only thing that holds it back is the ride height which means a lot of hiking. The wagons absolutely swallow up 4 adults, four rifles, 2 pig dogs and 4 day packs.
