MY06 3.0R-SpecB in SA

Well, I've been lurking on here for a while now and, some of you know, I've re-entered the world of Subys recently so here's what I'm about:

Name: BJ aka Brad

Ride: MY2006 3.0R-SpecB Sedan in Violet (Violent?) Grey

Location: Barossa Valley, SA. About an hour north of Adelaide's CBD.

Mods at Purchase: Totally stock (falls asleep)

Plans: Just cosmetic. The trouble is, I'm fussy and, more importantly, I have to have it approved by the ubiquitous Dr No - so my negotiation skills are often tested.

In no particular order:

New rims. Undecided on colour or look but I'm thinking something deep dish and a bit aggressive looking without being too chunky or too spindly. Most likely 18" though. The car colour makes some rims just not look right.

New grill. Tons of grills out there, very few for the 3.0R-B. Could prove a challenge.

Body kit. See note above re the grill. The front bumper is different on this model meaning that lips, grills and bumper enhancements that fit every other GenIV Liberty will most likely not fit this one. Just means I get to spend my money slower until I find the right one.

There is a really nice rear diffuser I have come across in the US. Once the maker has confirmed it will work on the Australian rear bumper, I'm thinking a group buy might be on the cards - more on this when I know more.

Exhaust. There is a probability of 1 that Dr No will deny this particular request (she hates noise). I'm thinking, therefore, of installing some tips so at least I can look the goods even if I can't sound like it.

Bluetooth and MP3 player. With the Macintosh system, this is proving to be a real challenge, particularly as I also want to use an MP3 player to play music. Hell, my old BMW (which was a year older than this bus) could handle such simple tasks. The more I research it, the more I'm thinking that removing the Macintoss and putting in something a little friendlier might be the way to go.

That should do it for now.

Occupation: Business mentor and coach.

Until about a year ago, I had an accounting practice. I got sick of filling out forms and I'm not really boring enough to be a full-on accountant, anyway, so now I mentor and coach business owners. Much more interesting, positive, rewarding and fun!

Year of birth: 1966. The 1960s have a lot to answer for.

Interests: Apart from driving, I'm also renovating a 140yo country home and have an interest in Australian military history.

Previous Rides:

1979 Mazda 626 sedan
1979 Audi 100CD Sedan
1982 Subaru Touring Wagon
1989 Subaru DL Sports Wagon
2000 Subaru Impreza RX Sedan
2005 BMW 318i M-sport sedan

cheers,

bj

Welcome again Brad. Some TCP mufflers will only add a slight note on full acceleration but still very quiet for Dr No

Welcome mate, nice wheels too! :P :P

I live up in the Barossa area as well so wouldn't be surprised if I have seen you or the missus driving around once or twice. I see quite a few stock lib's driving around but couldn't tell one from the other! :P

Good luck with getting some Mod's under the nose of Dr. No, catch ya around!

Cheers guys - yes, I plan to be at the cruise on May 20 - only one thing in the pipeline that might stop that but we'll have to wait and see.

And Michael, I hope to have my "BJ" plates back on soon so you'll be able to tell it's me, then.

cheers,

bj

If you lived in the Barossa area then you'd know that these are a rarity! :P
