Postby chuckie » Sun Apr 29, 2012 6:40 pm

hey guys! My name is Michael. I picked up my new RB about 3 weeks ago now :)

Ride: 2004 MY05 3.0R-B
Location: Melbourne, VIC (northern suburbs)

Mods: Currently the car has a stainless steel 2.75" cat-back exhaust system with mild steel headers. They cats have been modified and there are some sort of sports mufflers too, not sure what make (the system was fitted up in QLD). Also has 18" charcoal STI's

Plans: Not too sure on what i want to do next, or anything at all. Just reading past threads makes me want to do all sorts of stuff... 8)

Occupation: Currently studying... :)

Age: im 20 soo... p-plate restrictions :(

Interest: Soccer

Previous Rides: First car was a 98 RX 2.5 Liberty. It was diagnosed with a cracked heat gasket in January and now she is just sitting on the front lawn :( Not sure on what ill be doing with her.

Here are pics (iPhone quality unfortunately).
Hopefully the Melbourne weather hasn't taken off too much of her shine :)

G'day Michael,

Well done on your purchase - very similar to my new ride although yours already has some upgraded rims and exhaust.

I'm finding cosmetic mods for the 3.0R-B a little more difficult to come across (and rarely on special - grrr) because it has a slightly different front bumper to the others. Still, I guess that makes it just a little more special.

Being on your Ps, I'm guessing that engine mods are out for the time being so that leaves you with the cosmetic ones. I guess it depends upon whether you want the inside or the outside to be worked on first. Personally, I would go the outside first with some bodykit parts and a new grill.

Lowering it could be an option, too.

Interior-wise, the sound system is a good place to start because, really, the Macintosh is a real pain to work with if you want to add anything to it.

Ultimately, it all comes down to your tastes, your budget and whether or not there is a special person in your life who thinks they are more deserving of your care, attention, and funds.

Have a look on the forum, ask heaps of questions and all the best for the mods - I'll be watching to see what might work for me, too.

cheers,

bj

thanks bj :) i was possibly looking into some brembo's or maybe just painting my calipers :) wasnt sure what colour would go nicely though. Might look into supsension upgrades, mods that will increase handling and breaks ect. I agree with you about the macintosh system, i cant play my iphone or anything... might have to look into that clarion dongle thing ive been reading about :) haha.

oh and ive also got a genuine sti front strut brace fitted :)
