Hi Guys,

Just got my 2005 Liberty 3.0RB 2 weeks ago and im in love previous rides were a 2000 RAV4 Cruiser and a 1994 5MT Commodore Wagon (Which I wrote off) as bogan as it was I loved the Commodore. I live on the Lower South Coast NSW.

No mods as of yet, but ive been in contact with PHAT GT about an STi front strut bar and ABS and Battery covers, just got my tax back so ill be ordering them very soon. Although also ill Post a few pics later but I think my Liberty has an aftermarket air intake, ill get someone to confirm if thats okay

Planned Mods: Brakes, open to ideas but I want to keep it stock looking

In terms of the front strut bar, most people would agree that it is mostly engine bay bling and usually one of the last handling mods people do. I'm not sure of the cost on one of those things but if it is similar to the cost of a rear sway bar which you could also get through Phat then I'd highly recommend doing that first... it'll be a guaranteed noticeable difference (the stock rear sway bar is hollow and weighs hardly anything compared to an after market one).

Thanks Teflon, Ill take that into consideration, might hold off on the front strut bar. Any particular brands I should be looking at for the rear sway bar? Thanks for the welcomes guys I've learnt a lot from this forum already and theres stacks more to be learned.

I agree with Teflon regarding the strut bar, go rear sway bar instead. Get the cusco one Phat can hook you up with that too and can install it if you need

As Jerome says you can either get the Cusco or Whiteline for the rear sway bar but whichever brand you decide make sure you get the heavy duty mounts (Cusco ones are about $80-$90, AVO I think are a bit dearer). The stock mounts are quite fragile.

Thanks heaps guys just shot an email to PHAT for a price on the rear sway bar for whiteline and cusco. There is a few other things I should probably do beofre going nuts with mods I need a new key as it only came with one and probably a new driver side mirror as the indicator light has been smashed out of it, New tyres are on the cards at some stage too.

Cheers I've seen a couple of pics of the guys who are putting superchargers on and they dont seem to have this so i thought maybe it was aftermarket.

Hey mate the problem is im 4 hours south of Nowra pretty much on the NSW/ VIC border

then that actually is the south coast! I played soccer down there once at merimbula stayed at pambula caravan park

What are you doing modding the Liberty?

Ahh its you! My accident forced my hand and a Lib 3.0RB was the best I could do at short notice, so I put my 86 savings towards it. That said I will take an 86 for a test drive and if i like it more than the Lib ill trade up, but I seriously doubt that, I love this car so much.
