G'day all.

After having a couple of WRX's, it's now time for a family car. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago from Geelong in Victoria.

Just seeing if there's anybody else out there that's starting doing any mods to their car yet?

Not going to go balistic, but I'm looking at a catback exhaust and a reflash - probably from the HPF. Rear swaybay and some new springs. I don't want to go to low. Possibly some Sti or H&R springs. I really don't want to effect the ride too much. And a new front grill.

I'm a member of the WRX club, here in Victoria, but there seems too be a fair bit of knowledge here I want to tap into. :)

Ash..

Welcome Ash, Definitely drop the gen5 height a bit. Improves the look by 1000.

Seems to be heaps of gen5's around on here now

Yeah hamish, I was never planning too drop it, but when I got it, I knew a had too. My last car, i put Eibachs in it, and it just wasn't great around town. I curious too know how much the STi springs drop it by.

Welcome Ash.

15 - 20mm drop with the STi's.

Those oem mesh grilles look 11ty times better than the stock chrome one :good:

Well, it's been about 4 months since I last posted here. A bit of an update on my progress.

I put sti springs in, Avo mufflers, rear swaybar, Corozon grill and I just painted the wheels.

All subtle mods. Just to improve an already good package, and hopefully it doesn't look as much like a family wagon. :)

I'll post a photo tomorrow of the mufflers.
I would have liked them to stick out a bit more, but, I think the mufflers suit both sedan and wagon, and the wagon bumper is bigger.
Noise wise - it's not as loud as i'd thought it might be. But, it has made it so I can hear it now. And it's not offensive.

Looks great ash!

The corazon grille looks good, I see you went with the suby badge as opposed to the "corazon" badge

How much did the wheel painting set you back per wheel?

Yeah Sym, put the grill on with nothing, but it looked to blank. I didn't like the Corazon badge, so I did a bit of a google search, and saw people had used the standard badge, but changed the colour. It seemed to work. I relocated the horn, and painted the radiator black so you can't see behind as well. Looks heaps better.

As for the wheel painting. Cost $75 all up - and about 9 hrs of my time. About 3 hrs or so of just wet and dry, to prepare it for the paint. Four spray cans all up. One can of primer, two cans of paint and one can of clear coat. It could have done with another coat of colour and clear, but I ran out. A cheap way of trying something different. :D
