Hello everyone,

My name is Jamie, obviously go by Stokesy to most though..

I have been reading over your forum for the past few days now, looking at ideas for my up and coming purchase of a Liberty..
I have come to a conclusion on which one i want and it is as follows

'06 Subaru Liberty "Blitzen" Sedan
Now as i'm sure you all are aware of this car (being based on a r-b spec 4gen My06 model...

My question is.. Would i be missing out on alot by getting a semi-auto variant? instead of a manual..
i have always preferred manuals and love the extra control they offer over traditional autos.. but i have driven a couple of semi-autos and dont mind some of them as they offer the convenience around town while offering control when desired..

However i still want to be able to 'show off' the power of my car when the mood takes me, and not get bogged down with the auto being stupid.. how quick are the gear changes, etc?

do i lose any power atw's? what are they like to drive? any one own one at any time?

I ask this because i have the option of either, but i have my heart set of the Black version and the manual is a red, which i have heard is very red?!?!???? is it yuk red? or? thoughts? experience? would be much thankful

catch ya

take the manual version, 6 speed owns all.

welcome aboard mate.
but seriously, drive them both and see what feels better.
the auto does cost a few ponies at the wheels

also, why are you set on the Blitzen? you lose the sunroof and full leather (has suede inserts) that the 3RB has..?

Welcome mate, good to see another Tas member, where abouts are you from.

Tyrus, who is blitzen75 on here has a manual blitzen sedan in hobart if you wanted to have a look, and i would imagine if you asked nicely he would be more than happy to show you. Rob and I are both in Hobart also and we have the 3.0Rb but in wagons if you wanted to compare the difference, id be happy to meet up and have a chat to you about the car. (one of my favourite topics of conversation) :)

I quite like the half leather in the Blitzens, and while i like the individuality they are very red, and im still undecided about the body kit. But thats your choice.

Anyway, welcome. :)
