"The New Guy"

Hi guys and girls,

My name is Craig, I live in West Gippsland, Victoria, and I'm a Truck Driver.

I've been an avid Liberty enthusiast for a number of years, bought my first one in '03 (the one I still own now), and have owned a few 1st Gens, and a couple of 2nd Gens, and I'm currently in the process of buying a 3rd Gen Outback Ltd for the missus, and getting a 91 RS to keep me happy till I can find a loophole in the import laws that will let me get my dream 97 GT-B brought over from Japan.

My current ride is a 97 Liberty GX, (nicknamed "Oti"), who has been my daily driver for 6 years, and has now amassed 375,000 on the clock, but is still going strong.

See y'all in the forums  ,

Craig

This is Oti in Albury, last month on a trip to Sydney with my missus and my best mate. (Note; Stockies in this one because it was a long drive and the ride is shit on the 17s with weight in the car)

If I can wrangle up some images of my previous rides, I'll post them up. But until then, this is all I've got. Oooh, also, I ended up getting the 3rd Gen Outback this week, so when I pick it up I'll post some photos too. (Not that it's anything special, it's stock as a rock)

Okay, this is my "stop-gap" car, as I am currently in the market for an RS, or if I'm lucky, a silver '97 GT-B.

She's a 93 GX, FWD Auto (*sigh* but beggars can''t be choosers)

This little weapon cost me $400 off of ebay (ended up being $395, due to a winning $5 scratchie left in the glovebox, win!), and I spent a little over $1000 getting her on the road, including 17" GT-B wheels, new tyres, Clarion Stereo install (4x 6in, 1200W 12" sub, head unit, 2 Amps etc etc.), a sports steering wheel (coz it makes da car well fast an' stuff  realistically to pass a roadworthy inspection, but it suits the car, which is nice) and a neat aftermarket exhaust, which gives it a noticable sound when the throttle is opened, but not enough to make eardrums bleed on long trips.

And the best is yet to come: 2 owner history, full (and I mean FULL) service history dating back to the purchase date in '93, up to the week before I bought it! and under 220,000kms on the clock!

All in all, very happy with my 'new' ride, which i have become quite attached to in the 4 months I've had her.

Hi welcome.
Did just removing the front driveshafts actualy work or was there more involved? I always thought with the open diffs all the power would go to the front were there is no load. which would mean no sick awsome skids bro :P

The upside to "buy" sections on forums and friends who work at Repco!

Even I want to punch myself for it. It was a disaster, gutless as balls, and the only thing it did was "power" slide on dirt and in the wet ( a feat which was much better acheived with the AWD system back in a week later anyways!). Ahh the adventures of a moronic 18 year old..
