From WRX to Liberty

Hi all :)

I picked up my MY07 Subaru Liberty 2.5i today so I figured I'd join some of the forums around to try extract some much needed information from you all.

My previous car as a MY06 Subaru WRX, I chose to downgrade in performance etc to save on the costs of insurance/running costs etc so I can make the idea of purchasing a house become a bit easier. Being 22 years old you get nailed quite badly on insurance for the WRX so I figure it was a wise decision. So far I'm quite happy with the car and it runs perfectly :) Hopefully the community here aren't too anti non-performance members ;)

I think I already notice some people on here from Perth-WRX as that was my previous forum of choice :)

First things I would like to get done is some enhancements to the audio side of things, particularly getting a bluetooth hands free system of some sorts fitted. From what I can see a few people have used Parrot hands free kits and they look quite nice, being priced at sub $300 online it also seems like quite a good deal. With the USD being in poor shape I think it will be a done deal shortly :) Anyone here have any recommendation for people to do work on their car stereo's in WA, thus far everything I do will be through Macey at Westside Audio in Cannington as Perth-WRX seems to swear by him. If anyone can confirm the size of the speakers in the doors of the top of their head that would be much appreciated, hopefully it will take 6x9's.

Neil

Hi Neil,

I think you'll find 1 or 2 guys that do mods to their cars here! Just a little bit of info on what & how to do too etc...

Nice to see you come over to the dark side

Welcome Neil!

Insurance isn't so bad... when I was 21 I had the last ST205 Celica GT-Four in Australia, you just gotta get it insured with Shannons

Welcome mate!

Insurance is always a pain in the butt when your under 30. To me it's just the price you have to pay if you want a nice car :)

According to Shannon's website all the drivers have to be 25 and over now....Meaning the OP is out of the question since he said he is 22.

I only went on because i wouldn't mind some cheaper insurance myself! :P

I looked into shannon's when I had my WRX, especially because they were cool with mods etc but they don't appear to offer insurance to people under 25. I find it rather odd that they would insure people under 25 when you apply over the phone when their terms & conditions state they only insure people over 25.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Anyone have pointers in regards to my question about bluetooth hands free kits?

Cheers.
