First cab off the rank...

Postby Ric » Sun Oct 08, 2006 10:59 am

Hi, I'm Ric. Image

I bought an MY06 Liberty 3.0RB 6MT back in March.

This is my first Subaru, I was a long time Mazda Astina owner previously. :)

I'm also a regular competitor in the MG club competition in my dad's 1957 MGA.
(Here's a photoshoot of the MGA done by TANCLA: http://www.tangcla.com/gallery_87-28122011-MG-MGA.htm )

I won the MGA class last year, so I guess that makes me the current MGA champion ;)

One consideration when I decided to buy the 3RB was towing capacity.
(No way I could ever tow an MG with my Mazda Astina)

Love the Rig

The Liberty and MG look good together

I wish my old man had an MGA

I drove a fully restored TD?? once - was like driving a truck - man that thing was heavy and felt like it had nooo brakes.

Must be handfull racing an older car

So was the south park character created from your pix, LOL

Nicely done I never new you had won the MGA..I like the award, would have been nice if they left the piston on it though.

Well done!

Ric - Yeh forgot the most important part-

Personal acheivement and recognition. 8)

Congrats on the MGA title - I am sure the balance between racing hard while not trying to stack your dad's beautifull car aint easy.

I am also sure it's your pride and joy also. The MG looks immaculate!

That 2006 photo of my MGA on the trailer was a borrowed trailer, a lot bigger than needed.
I eventually bought an MG sized single axle trailer that tows beautifully.
For many years, it has been the featured photo when you search for "Stuckey Tyre Service" on Google Maps.

Here's a few from Nov 2006, first time I killed the engine. (Oil pump failed, followed by the big end bearings about 30 seconds later)
The workshop manual said you had to strip out the interior to get the engine out, so we did.
(Soon worked out that was rubbish, so didn't for the multiple times it has had to come out since...)
