Saying hi to all at last.

Many of my customers frequent here and I should have registered ages ago but never got around to it.
I did have a fantastic Premium Pack GT Liberty auto wagon for about 4 years (WRX before that) until it was sadly hit up the rear and then became a repairable writeoff....

If I can help in any way to answer any questions on all aspects of window tinting, truths and myths, technical, legal, you name it, I'd be glad to help out.

Regards,
Rob Tait.

Hi Rob!

Thanks for the tint the other day, seems to have darkened a little more since it was put on, and it looks great.
Also thanks for the ride in your Ferrari :D

Highly recommend anyone to Rob!

Hey Rob, I know I asked you about the rears when I was there but you informed me that they are already at the legal limit.

I am wondering about the front windscreen, as I just cannot believe the massive difference in temperature / sunlight coming through your tinted windows versus the front windscreen which offers barely any reduction in sunlight, it's such a massive difference between the two that I really want to reduce the heat coming in to the car overall, if you can do anything about it let me know, you have my number!
Either way I'll probably give you a call about the sunroof as I know you said you were able to put the new tint on that to reduce UV.
Anything I can do to come back and see your car :D

Cheers mate, and sorry about not being able to make the WRX club meeting but I had to wake up at 4am for work so I wasn't in the mood, but one of these days I will make an appearance and I hope to see you there.

Regards,

Kieran.

Windscreen tinting with an aftermarket film anywhere in Australia is illegal...that's a fact!

Late model Subaru's cars have front windshields that have a very slight coloured interlay in the lamination and do provide some small reduction in heat transfer due to this.

A not commonly recognised feature of these front screens is that this interlay actually incorporates a UV filter which rejects 75% of the harmful ultaviolet,...no where near the performance of a solar film which is at 99% but not bad all the same.

It is also worth noting that if you take a current new Liberty, have a very close look at the insignia on the bottom of the glass.
It will have on it "UV" which indicates a filter in the glass so when a new car dealer offers you their aftermarket jollies and "you'll need this", well it's an unnecessary purchase for that reason.

As for sunroof tinting, I hope the forum doesn't mind me posting this link as to retype it will take ages.

PS. Perhaps the mods could contact me to advise on sponsership within the club?

You could contact managing director/owner of the entire Solartint group by the name of Gary Lane based in Caringbah 02 5262888 and tell him I referred you.

Hi Rob,

Was a pleasant experience having my Liberty tinted by you, and the results is fantastic. I would certainly recommend my friends to you if they need their car/house tinted!

Thx guys for the pluses....I really appreciate them.
Doing so many WRX's and Liberty's from day one and having owned both varieties, I reckon there is not a screw I don't know of in pulling them apart and therefore I can tell if anybody has had these cars tampered with before me....ie, in a panel shop or whatever.
I see an enormous amount of broken and damaged whatevers because of people not in the know.
Many regards,
Rob

Hi,
What I can do is cut the film to size as though I was fitting it here in Melb and then provide my tinter up there I know of the precise instructions as to what direction the film has been cut off the roll in order to heat mould it to your roof contour.

What Subie is it, what year?

I just did this for a guy over in Perth.
