Hi all,

I've been wanting a 4th Gen Liberty wagon for quite a while now and recently I found one that ticked all the boxes for me (except the colour), so I snapped it up. It's a white MY06 3.0R-B. I would have preferred a black one, even silver (even though my other car is silver) over white but since there were not many 3.0R-B's for sale in my immediate area I decided colour choice was something I could compromise on. That being said, the white colour is really growing on me. The car is in excellent condition with 53K on the clock, hitch, factory alarm, mica paint (in as new condition), window tint (not dark enough unfortunately) and a one owner vehicle. The only thing it's missing is SAT NAV which I already chastised the previous owner for not opting for it when he purchased the car brand new  . I know all you GT guys are going to say it's missing a turbo as well. I did consider buying a GT, but as my other car is a Toyota Aristo twin turbo I get my turbo fix from that.

I have already purchased a set of Tein S. Tech's from Phat GT and can't wait to install them. The R-B's stock ride is just too soft for me (and too high), especially since I'm used to the ride in the Aristo which has coilovers. Whilst I don't expect the Tein's to handle as good as the coilovers, I do expect it will be better than the stock setup and I mostly want them for the drop in height. Next up will most likely be LCA bushes and possibly Whiteline swaybars. Once all that is installed and settled and I have a good idea of the ride height, I will decide on new rims. Since the car has new Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's on it it makes sense to get some 18's and put the Pirelli's on them. I'm thinking the Rota Gravels in 18x8 +48 Hyper Black - I'm liking the white car/black rim combo. If not 18's then 19's, but I haven't done much research on 19's so don't have anything particular in mind. After that, maybe a visit to Pulse Racing for a tune to improve throttle response.

I have been reading plenty of threads in this forum lately and there is lots of great info. I look forward to picking your brains from time to time.

Andy.

Cheers mate. The mod bug hit me a long time ago. One of the reasons I wanted a non turbo car so I would hopefully cut down on the mods, engine-wise anyway. I still want it to look good and corner well though. Can't seem to get rid of it no matter what I do

It is very nice to drive and I am really looking forward to the practicality of a wagon.

Thanks for the welcome.

Thanks Matt.
I'm keen to see the S. Techs on it too :D
I tried to find a photo of an RB wagon with stock rims and S. Techs to get an idea of what it looks like but no joy. I feel your pain! Luckily my driveway is easy to get in and out of. Getting in to the garage is another matter. I had to raise the height on the Aristo to stop it from ripping off the catalytic converter. I don't think the RB will be that low though.

Cheers Will. You're right; we'll always find something to modify won't we? Regardless of engine type. Based on what I've read so far, it looks like it's good to be Phat!

Thanks Rob. It really is in excellent condition. A testament to it's previous owners, and they had two kids as well! Hope you don't have to wait much longer for yours.

3.0R-B wagon...nice choice!

I have the MY07 model in Satin white pearl (same colour as yours I think) & although I wasn't thrilled with the colour when I bought it (2nd hand), I'm now very happy with it & would go as far as saying that it's the best colour the car came in. Yes, even better than Obs. black :D

I'm sure you'll grow to love it too

Cheers mate. I see Gen IV wagons everywhere in Canberra. Guess they're not all members on here though. :?

Going to have to give that a miss this time.

Looking forward to it too.

Thanks :D I think so too.

I was wondering what the official colour name was. Mine is definately white pearl, so makes sense that it's the same name as yours.
