Iv made my plea to vicroads (A rather good one ill admit) and now im just awaiting for my paperwork to return.
Wanted a rexy, but a liberty is more of a family car (More chance of approval) To be honest I just wanted to move to a turbo scooby

What makes you so special that you NEED to drive a turbo on your P's?
There is no chance you will get an exception for a car like you are after.

I dont fully understand the workings of these rules, but if you applied for a turbo liberty i would have replied with 'they come in N/A buy that if you need a liberty.'

Well for starters dad wants another turbo subaru..I pay for the car, but he likes to occationaly drive and sorts it out for me. I reminded him that a wrx I wouldnt be allowed to drive, so hes fine with a liberty. I live 38kms from work (1 way) public transport will take in excess of two hours (and considering my 7:30am start Id much rather drive. We had a 2.5RS but was 'underpowered' and neither of us wanted the N/A again (only to sell in another year)

Im not the typical commodor driving knob, I hate burnouts, top speed dosnt impress me and love my AWD (particularly in subaru form )
I HATE people not merging on the freeway at 100kph, not because of impatience, but because its dangerous trying to slot in 30kph slower.
Them and commodore drivers.... Iv seen some shit now, and it boils my blood when I see them drifting in housing estates and in populated areas.
Apprentice wages suck monkey balls, and buying another car and insuring it in my name is near impossible when im trying to save.


If vicroads for whatever reason say no, its like saying: Go get a 195kw rwd falcon and wrap it around a pole.

I can see your point of view, and normally I would wait. But I now find out I have to wait till 22 because im on the new laws and the harder test.
I havnt had a single speeding fine, defect or altercation of any type.. almost 21 I think that driving record should give me some slack.
Im not buying a B4 for hoonage purposes, I want one because I have a genuine passion for subarus.

The only near misses iv had in my few years driving was because I was starring at a WRX or a STi tunes liberty

This attitude causes accidents. You can have the slowest car on the road but if you do 100klm/h around a corner in a 50 zone, come off and hit a tree your going to die. All because you had the wrong attitude about driving.

You want an exemption because you think you are special!
Get real.

Sorry to say it, but you won't get an exemption even if you have a flawless driving record. The only reason you will get an exemption is under EXCEPTIONAL circumstances - and I believe they use the exact same word in the legislation.

I know im not the best driver in the world, and ill be the first to admit that, and I understand my experience is relatively low.
I want this car because I love subarus.. not just for the novelty of having a turbo.

Well originally I thought that too.. but a family friend of ours dad sent a letter to Vicroads, and with just that he was allowed to drive a VE SS Ute..

That's because it is a common work car, because it is very handy for people like tradesmen to have a ute.
How are you going to convince Vic roads that you need a mid sized car with a turbo, which offers no extra functionality than a non turbo for any work related purposes?

Had a 2.5 and it wont tow our tandem jetski trailer. I would love a 3.0, but there alot more expensive.. the cheapest I could find was 18k and that had a massive amount of kms.

How are you going to convince Vic roads that you need a mid sized car with a turbo, which offers no extra functionality than a non turbo for any work related purposes?

Well his excuse wasn't work related at all.. I read it and the summary was "My dads car, hes given it to me so I need to be allowed to drive it" And that not lie, no point bullshitting myself. I am a tradesman, I work at Mercedes in doncaster.. and they trust me with >$100,000 cars (which iv taken home on occation [which was a first for a 1st year apprentice])

I was honest on the application, and if they say no well so be it. Ill get a forester GT which is under 100kw/tonn
