Hey peeps,

I thought I'd introduce myself, as I am sure I will be asking many questions of the knowledgeable people on this forum in the years to come.

I have been a long time Liberty fan, ever since learning to drive in a Gen2 many years ago. Just recently I made my own purchase of a Silver MY03 RX wagon.
No major plans at this stage to do any mods, thinking I will keep it pretty much stock, possibly upgraded sway bars in the future but thats about it.

Anyways, my first questions is does anyone know what model my stock headunit is? It has the combined CD and cassette. I have done a search, but couldnt find any further info, and really want to find out if its possible to add an Aux input for my ipod.

I understand I should probably be asking this in another thread, but worth a try I guess.

Cheers in advance...

Model no. PF-2353I-B
Part no. 286-7201-39

In all honesty, it would be more economical to just buy yourself a new one which is MP3/iPod compatible.

Anyway, congrats on the purchase! I too had a Gen2 as my first car and have since purchased a Gen3 recently also. They're a heavy car in comparison, and you do feel the extra weight. However the ergonomics are a decent step-up and having a wagon is a huge bonus! Do you have any plans to mod it? Or just keeping it stock?

Cheers for the quick response mate!

Hmmm, might have to do a it more research re aux input etc. I quiet like the idea of keeping the interior as stock as possible, it just seems too be very well thought out and I like the look of it.
I'm not really a fan of the whole FM transmitters as the sound quality is pretty poor, this is the main reason I wanted to find an Aux input answer to my problem.

As for the car itself, I'm super pleased with it so far. The 2.5 definitely makes a huge difference over the 2.0 in the Gen2 I learnt to drive in, and I reckon your spot on about the ergonomics. Im really happy with the build quality of the interior as well, not one squeek or rattle yet, and the car is 8 years old!

As for getting a wagon, I dont really see the point in having a sedan when you could have so much more useable space.
Other benefits include better rear vision, plus I prefer the look of the wagon.

Ok,

After a bit more research, I finally realise that a new HU is the best option.

I like the look of this one -> http://www.clarion.com/au/en/products/2009/audio/source_unit/2din/CX609A/au-en-product-pf_1172419833140.html

$500 is a bit out of my budget at the moment, but looking at keeping the car for a fair few years, so might be something to invest in later on.

I guess I'm stuck with FM transmitter or tape deck thingy for the time being...

Thats the exact same headunit I had in my previous car, my Gen2 :D

If you want your head unit to look somewhat stock, then this is for you!
