JDM 05 Blitzen in NZ

Postby Insubordinate » Sun Nov 21, 2010 7:25 pm

Hi,
I have spent many hours pouring over the info, pics and the shared knowledge on this site and I just love it.
Recently purchased my 4th Legacy, a 2nd hand Japanese import, as is the way in NZ, a Black 2005 Legacy GT Blitzen, they are a 2.0L twin-scroll Turbo with a "Porsche" designed exterior on a set of four sad looking 17" wheels. I was impressed with the drive and acceleration at first but seeing how modifiable these wonderful Legacy/Libertys are I just had to bite the bullet and throw on a new AVO downpipe connected to a HKS Silent Hi-Power twin exhaust and a full tune....NOW she goes! And yet I feel unable to stop there. Looking at an upgrade for the TMIC but don't have the coin for a new turbo just yet.

I have seen with interest the 06 Aussi Blitzen 3.0L model and just love the wheels on it and I would desperately like to try and find a set and get them back here on my 05 but they do seem very rare, my search continues...

I have attached a few not-so-sharp pics of my vehicle but will do better next time!

Hi and Welcome.

Aggressive looking rear end you got there, i like it. Love the look of the JDM rears with their rear wipers, and that added to the bulk rear of the Blitzen is even better.
Nice upgrades so far, keep us posted as you go and be sure to setup a thread in the "Post Your Mods" section with some more clearer pictures.

Love the look of the rear on the Blitzen, what style of wheel do you have now?

I wish aus got the 2.0T blitzen an not the 3.0L...

Thanks, yes the new exhaust certainly toughened her looks up a bit but the new downpipe and the tune is what really made me feel that I had allowed the car to start doing what it was aching to do, especially after comparing the stock set-up off the turbo to the downpipe to the new opened up system from AVO.

I will thread into the "Post your mods" section with proper pics after the weekend hopefully.

Thanks, the original wheels are 17" "Porsche" design which unfortunately I just don't like, especially when I compare them to the 18" 06 Aussi Blitzen wheels. My goal is to get some from Oz and plant them on my 05 JDM model. That would look MEAN. I may have to be very patient judging by the look of things. If it is not to be I will definately be looking for some 18"or 19" wheels. The pics of many of the cars on this website are impressive and certainly it broadens ones mind as to what is possible and what might look best on your car. They won't be chrome however!!

Welcome to the forums Insubordinate.

That's a nice looking Blitzen you have there and as others have mentioned, nice agressive looking rear end !

Yes, Tempe Tyres have a lot of goodies Shano but it's a bit far for Insubordinate seeing he's from the land of the great white cloud
