Introduce yourself

greetings...hello...and so on...

Postby KOi_STi » Mon Nov 08, 2010 12:43 pm

hi everyone...

just thought to pop in here and introduce myself before i get cracking on the forum...

my name is will, and am the proud new owner of a 2007 tuned by sti, in brilliant silver...and stock...

i wasn't initially sold on the colour but after a couple of days i absolutely love it, far easier to keep clean than the car i had before which was a lightly modded 2004 gt in black...which one or two of you might have seen around the place...

i must say the 2007 is a step up from the 2004 in most areas that were important to me, and compared with the cars i was looking at (i.e. early 2000's M3...evo x...mid 2000's audi S4 and the 2006 tb sti) i honestly couldn't be happier...although some brand loyalty did play its part, this is my 3rd turbo subaru!

i was a little bit active once before on this forum but kinda dropped off with the demands of work, life, etc. but hope to be here for the long term this time and get involved as much as possible...

thanks and hope to see you all out on the road sometime...

Bet you'll enjoy it looking clean after a good wash for more than 15 mins driving :D

Nice upgrade, enjoy!! Any 'light' mods planned yet?

cheers for the warm welcome guys...

yes was very much over having a black car and having it dirty-up after only minutes of driving...i was tempted to buy a black 07 tb sti as i had a few cosmetic plans for a black car but will have to rethink those now with the silver...but honestly, the more and more i look at it, the more and more i am falling in love with the silver...it really shines in the sunlight!

there are a couple of mods planned but i will save those for the new year, just want to enjoy the car for now stock and attack it in the new year with a few extra $ in my pocket...

...oh and pics to come, of both my previous gt and now the new tb sti...just need some time to take them!

yep spot on, a brighton purchase...worked out a pretty good deal for me with my trade in so im happy... :D

where did you get your black tb sti, dealer or private?..

there were a couple of others i looked at namely out subaru docklands way but couldnt justify the money they were asking...

oh and as for black vs silver, if they were both clean i would take the black hands down as i had quite a few plans for a black tb sti but having owned a black gt for 3 years...a change is nice along with the silver still looking clean after melbourne's traditional dodgy weather...

This is the one from docklands, leasing has its benefits (gst on sale only - so 4k off ;) ), and they were hard to deal with, but i put the offer down, went for a smoke, and they met me halfway. Its only done 28,000, pretty clean all over, they had the front bar repaired and you wouldn't know.. quite a weird vehicle, it must have sat in storage for 8 months, as its got services 8mths apart with only 200km on the clock.

I am sure we will see each other.. it will commute to sth yarra daily. :)

oh cool...yeah i had a look at that one too and it looked a very clean car but i wasnt entirely sold on the black and subaru docklands were not overly keen to have a modded gt as a trade in so i decided to see what else was on the market...

seems like it worked out well for the both of us...lol
