The colour is "midnight express" or the "look of the car"?

That's OK guys - I'll be using Jamahl from Currenttrenz. We go back a while.

Just wondering what ratios "seemed" to work front v rear for others recently.

Personally, I'm thinking 10% rears and 35% front glass.

It'll be dark at rear but when they (read police) see the driver - it'll all look OK. Worked in the past. Should add that fatter and older always help.

I believe "Midnight Express" is the brand/style of tint used...

It's all "the rage"...

Welcome to the forum Andy ! I very nearly bought a White GTB mid last year, but in the end the dealer actually talked me out of it as he could tell I really had my heart set on a black one :-)

Glad you feel part of the Perth lot already - looks like it might be time for another gathering guys !

as it was clearly caused by the aftermarket exhaust(if you could call it that) that was fitted by the previous owner!

Jimmy they weren't exhausts, they were extended rear access ports for the engine !

She was doing just over 60 in a 70 zone, behind some other car. The STi was completely stock, except for tint. The cop actually went to the effort to do a u turn and pull her over. When she had a whinge at him he crapped on about you could be holding a gun and we wouldn't see it - what, so people in the back can hold guns but front passengers can't ???

I figure he must have been having a really bad day...

Anyway, this has all served to remind me to get my fronts tinted, I've just never got around to it :)

A belated welcome... yay im not the new kid in Perth anymore. Still havent been to a meet yet my self, and Ive got 2 and a half weeks off work coming up in a week...

I know why your car feels slow, its not black :P
The day i bought my lib this year (tuned by STi) a pearl white auto sedan tuned by Sti sold the same day only hours before... gotta get the salesman on a high on a friday arvo after making one big sale, you can grab a bargain as I egged him on how impressed his boss would be for selling 2 STi Libs in 1 day.

Where is Jamahl these days, he done graphics for an old car of mine back in 05. Is he still in the loft in the shop in Willeton cos i see the audio guys moved out.
I took my wagon to Tint-a-Car Vic Park and went all out and got darkest legal Bolle Tint including sunroof. For all intents and purposes its the same look as formula 1 or midnight express... but with better UV protection and best optical film for the money. Was like 470 for fronts and matching rears plus sunroof. Cos the wagon is black it makes the tint look darker too... but coppa's havent disliked it yet. (3months on)
