Haha Tony, you would have been proud of my Fridge of Fury - a white Cressida, same shape as Southo's. No 2J though unfortunately, but it was good for terrorising the locals when I lived in Toowong!

You lot are a bad influence, I had a quick look under the bonnet over the weekend and thought, "hmmm"... Damn you all!!! :p

Nah good stuff, great to see so many enthusiasts :) Thanks for the warm welcome!

The white is beautiful, it has this pearl that shines when the sun is out.

I'm a big fan of the pearl white, normal white is nice, but this white really stands out.

This is the best pic I have to show the pearl..

I'm not generally a fan of white cars, but this pearl white has changed my mind. It's not a boring flat colour, it actually has some depth, which I like. It'd be infinitely easier to keep clean than the black wagon they had in the showroom beside it!

Actually while I'm thinking of it, I've noticed my car is still comparitively cool inside after it's been out in the sun for a bit... not sure if it's due to the factory UV-cut glass or the fact that my car is white (fridge = cool, right?) but it's noticeably cooler than my other cars. How do you guys with darker colours go?

Are you showing off the pearl white of the car or the white shirts hanging in the back? :D

Hmm ok, though I do use one of those reflective things that sit inside your windscreen, it really seems to help. Once summer really gets going it'll be interesting to see how it goes, though by then it'll be getting parked inside during the day hopefully. Stupid dusty unprotected outside car parks FTL.

Oh and I've racked up a few kays on it now so I gave it a bit of a squirt this morning (merging into traffic from a standstill)... for a stock standard car it goes pretty hard. There are a few sayings I could throw in here to illustrate the point but I'd prefer not to offend too many people in my first week here haha

Good morning and welcome aboard Marc. Sounds to me like you are pretty happy with your new purchase and you should be mate. I hear you when you say you dont want to do any mods on her and I feel the same way. Why in the world would you want to change a perfectly good car? :D

Whatever you do though here under no circumstances should you look at this section http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewforum.php?f=10

Note: Do as I say and not as I do! Now I must go as its time to send Phats some more of my wallet no doubt.

well I guess it's not that bad, treading lightly and all that. I was just going to say it goes as hard as a priest in a playground, and how it pulls like... well you get the picture lol

Haha already been there... so, so bad

A bit of a noob question while I'm here... I've noticed that when I start it from stone cold in the mornings the engine is pretty noisy. Not oh-no-it's-going-to-die noisy, but there's definitely more mechanical noise there, and it's very noticeable. There's also a very minor miss, I can't hear it missing but I can feel the shakes in the car. They don't really worry me but I'm wondering if they are normal, or if I should mention them at its first service? I've done a bit of searching around and couldn't find much mention except for a 'lack of refinement when cold', so it's likely there's nothing wrong :)

yes the Lib will make a bit of noise when first started cold but once the blue light goes off and you can change to sport + mode this quiets down. Best mod you can do is a good ecu flash tune imo and if done right will net you some nice power gains, better fuel economy, and better throttle response. The Subaru stock maps are absolute rubbish imo, lots of timing retardation to make emissions people happy and quite rich. All of this is easily fixed though.

OK cool, thanks for that... good to know that it's fine :)

Agreed, stock ECU maps generally leave a fair amount of room for improvement - for emissions, and also because they have to play it safe to account for the same maps being used on thousands of engines, all of which will have slight differences. The ECU change was the best thing I did to my 'line (stock one isn't flashable so needed to go with a replacement), it completely transformed the car... and allowed the more serious mods to take place  I hit a wall at around 220rwkw with the stock ECU because I couldn't upgrade anything else without confusing it. Got rid of it quick smart!

To be honest I'd love to be able to get the Liberty making silly amounts of power but that's not what I bought the car for. Doesn't stop me itching to tinker with it though >_<
