It's a shame that the Liberty and Legacy badges aren't the same font. The 2.5 GT badge would look great under the Liberty if it were the same.

Oh well.

I've had a crazy busy week at work and just haven't had time to go put the damn thing in, and when I'm already burning to drive the thing, this was just one more irritation. Alas, I've had some time this morning.

It really is a simple install. I'm by no means a knowledgable car guy but with the few videos available it's no problem to do yourself.

I'd planned on doing a whole series of photos but by the time I got in to it, I was enjoying myself too much and often zoomed ahead.

But here it is and it looks amazing installed.

Once you loosen off the airbag you can sit it down and this what you're presented with.

Image

A small flat screwdriver to pop up the clip on the airbag connection then a solid wiggle to get it off. Remove the grey wire and away comes the airbag. Then just remove the white clips.

So this is where I zoomed ahead!! My bad. All controls and silver pieces, back cover and paddles are on the new steering wheel and ready to be mounted.

Here's the view from the front ready to go on. Not a great pic.

Finished product.

Felt awesome just working on the thing myself. Got a friend mechanic who lives across the street who was itching to do it for me, but he's a car guy, he understood that feeling of doing it yourself!! Was nice having a back up though if I royally f'ed it up!!

Looks great mate that feeling of doing things yourself is always good. Had much luck on your extra hand controls for it?

Just waiting for the funding approval. It's been agreed to but waiting on Formal Letter of Approval, and then hopefully the place that does the install has a slot open reasonably soon.

Car is in getting done and I'll finally get to drive it tomorrow. Just a bit excited! Have a loan car at the moment so good to get use to the new style of hand controls. Getting use to it fast but will take a good few weeks to fully get use to it.

They gave me a Camry Hybrid. They're a funny thingyk drive. I have to keep revving sh#t out if it to check that I've turned it on properly. Got some go though when you plant it. Plant the thumb in my case! Lol.
