yeah, fair call...

But the below statement is absurd:

prob easier finding sti as a good spec b is hard to find

Aside from the fact that there were way more Spec B's produced, tbSTIs also cost more and, due to their comparative rarity, are therefore more likely to have been better maintained, at least cosmetically.
Newbie posted in another thread about how Spec B's were much better than tbSTIs too but couldn't explain why.... Clearly he has one, and wishes he'd bought the latter!

Spec b are getting rare to find

Are you normal newbie?? Seriously

There is NOTHING rare about spec b's.... They were MASS produced!!

Tuned By Sti's were a limited numbered run, spec b's were just spat out.!!
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??

Mate, you've gotta be joking.

Tuned by STi will always be rarer and more desirable than a GT Spec B. Fact. I don't understand how you can think to the contrary, despite the numbers being readily available.

To the OP, sorry for the thread derailment, lovely car you've picked up, just need a new STi lip and she'll be as good as new :)

haha no worries, I have been around the net long enough to see every possible level of forum drama. I wont be contributing to any of that, but I look forward to years of ownership!

The first thing on the agenda was jump starting my gc8 rex and getting it off the road! Next step is a lip. Are official STI ones non existent now? Are there any options aside from Ultrex plastic ones?

Definitely still available - contact Garage 88 and they can order one in which will be a lot cheaper than buying through a dealership.
