yeah it died in the last 2 days, i didn't notice it today because i haven't been driving on boost much + music

stechnic brought it to my attention today during my normal service..

yeah only 50,000km on the clock.. they were baffled as well.. just a case of shitty luck I suppose

oh well :(

Well took it to the dealer.. took a guy for a drive and he said that theres nothing out of the ordinary by the sounds or feel of it...lol..

he then called stechnic and had a go basically asking how they couldve diagnosed it etc etc..

basically going to have a shitfight it seems :\

what will probably happen is they won't find anything wrong with it, charge me $600 for labour.... or altenatively find a replacement turbo from a wrecker :\

Little to no boost
been hearing a high pitched sound for a while (thought that was just the turbo), yesterday heard a mechanical type sound on boost.. almost like a grinding type sound

took my cousin for a spin (stomps on this forum turns out haha), he confirmed its buggered too, similar thing happened to his turbo

today I couldn't really replicate that sound I heard :|

My old tx3 turbo 4wd laser that I had back in the day had the same thing.

If i ran 15psi it would squeal . If I ran 10psi I got no issue at all.

So the turbo could be on its way out.

My advice ( may seem a little crazy ) . If the car is still under warranty ?? Then give it heaps, make the turbo work hard and heat up and make sure it comes on full boost as often as possible. You will chew fuel , but if it's 'on it's way out ' then its better to happen under warranty then to happen 2 weeks after it runs out.

If its just about to run out of warranty, make sure the dealer documents the issue. Make sure you have copies of everything that was done and checked. Ask for their diagnosis In writing .

So that if it does die 2 weeks out of warranty you might have some recourse back at the dealer.

Dan

P.S just noticed you said it has little to no boost. Put a temporary boost gauge on it to check what it's running and it should be around 14psi-15psi in 3rd under full load.
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??
