Postby Vladimir » Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:59 am

Hey everyone, Username is Vladimir but my real name is Zach.

Currently, I do not drive any car whatsoever, although I'm desperately looking for a Liberty 3.0R-B (around $7k-$9k). Joined these forums to gather as much information as possible about the car.

I live in Perth, WA.

Currently work as a casual, at University.

Was born in 1998.

Interests are photography, Videography, Surfing, Paddling, Guitar and of course Liberties.

My previous ride was a Mazda CX-9 (Family car).

Currently a P Plater looking for their first car.

Cheers,
Zach!

Welcome to Club Liberty, Zach! You've definitely come to the right place for info on everything Liberty.
Good luck with the search, the cars coming up for sale represent great value as they are a whole lot of car for the money.

Tell us more......

Obviously it is a 6MT Spec-B.

Common things to look out for.....
Sloppy Gear Lever
Noisy Power Steering Pump
Binding Centre Differential when hot
Dreaded head gasket failure.

Also, be sure to watch the oil level WEEKLY until you get an idea about oil consumption (which varies from car to car)
Running low on oil and destroying the engine is too common when people buy a H6 and then neglect it.

BTW, CorgiWerx can support you with everything above, except the head gaskets.

Gear lever has some slop which is standard for 183,000kms. When I get to it I will buy new bushes from you. (plus a short shift adapter :D )

Power steering pump is absolutely fine.

We tested a few liberty's and many of them had that binding center diff which was horrible. This one, however didn't.

I pray I don't get unlucky with the head gasket. This car had a new motor put in it which now has 150,000kms on it (30 thousand less than everything else). Since its motors rebuild It was driven by the wife of a Subaru specialist mechanic who was generous enough to fix a few things for the price of the parts after what we found in the inspection. This included;

Rocker Cover Gasket,
Reverse Lightswitch,
Rear door locking actuators and,
Transmission mount

Lucky for me, my understanding is that this car wasn't driven hard, judging by the feel and condition in comparison with others we drove.

So far so good!
