06 Tuned by STI...problem?

Club Liberty members! welcome. My name is Marco, i have been on this forum for a while, my username was illest and i organised the harrys cafe meet a few months ago. I didnt get the chance to meet many of you guys, but heres a bit of background to me anyway. Im from sydney and im a former sexspec enthusiast :'( Ever since i was a youngen i have been a big fan of subaru's, and since i got off my P's, i have been the proud owner of two Liberty's. One of which was fully hectic.

Image

Since aquaring my fulls, i sold my 07 Liberty and bought myself a 2006 Liberty GT Tuned by STI. number 76/300 to be exact. I bought the lib off a 60 year old, parliment house worker who drove the car to canberra and back. He was a good guy, but the car itself was so disgustinly dirty when i bought it... so after the first wash..

Image

Day 1 of ownership saw me painting the grille black (No Chromo)

Image

I washed the pink springs, billies and pads...Then gave the calipers a fresh gold coating. Being a 2006 Sti i dont have Brembos :'(

Image

A few days later i purchased and installed my GFB Respons BOV

Image

I wasnt happy with my sti wheels and wanted something to help me stand out. I opted for cheap shit Rota Grids. As they would only be temporary.

Image

After a few JDMST meets i realised how high my car was sitting. Enter BC Coilovers

well everyone knows that Stickers make your car way more JDM and alot faster. So i ordered myself some windscreen love.

Image

H.I.D. kit was purchased from Leo, (HKS180) the boss of everything L.E.D
Image

Well yes. that was my build so far. However beeing a lad who gets bored and influenced very easily, I decided to ditch the wheels, stickers etc, and go for a more performance based car. I have never been down the quater mile, nor have i ever tracked any car. I would love to track my liberty one day, hopefully with some gentle mods and firming up my suspension i will be able to.

Track motivation saw metaking the rotas off and selling them:

Ive been so excited to modify my car for some track days. The endless hours on youtube and people telling me thier stories has bitten me. Fuark i cant wait for this weather to cool down for some track day loving. Anywho, i finally got around to fix my suspension today... Pulled the BC coilovers out, reset them, lowered the car the proper way (lowered via strut not springs) for a better spring rate, thus a dar less bouncy ride.

This is how the Libort sits as of now:

when i took the wheels off today, i noticed that i have absolutely destroyed the plastic in the inner wheel arches. I dont know what i can do to repair it other then sourse a OEM new bit. Unfortunatly i didnt grab any photos but basically, the plastic in the inner wheel arches is all cracked and torn to shit :( I am aware that there are electics just above the plastic and i have noticed that my drivers side H.I.D low beam sometimes is out (But turns on again after i switch the lights on an off. Also my rear drivers brake light is out... coincidence?

Future Modifications:

*Dump pipe
*Upgrade TMIC or convert it to FMIC
*Cusco heavy duty rear sway bar mounts, Cusco front and rear sway bars and Cusco end links
*ECUTEK tune.
*Remove perrin short ram intake and upgrade to HKS intake.
*Fuel Pump
*Adjustable boost controller
*Turbo timer.
*New Oil Filter
*Oil Cooling system
*Water injection
*upgrade front and rear rotors and pads. would love brembos but may opy for Ap racing brakes. not too sure at this stage.

so yes, this is me. I have ordered a Xforce dump pipe aswel as a Hyperflow TMIC which all should arrive and be installed next week.

comments + critisism welcome. enjoy.

There is a long list of shit i want to do, ill see how much of it i can get done on a uni students wage. Thanks for checking it out!

so yeah thats me.

Just raise the suspension so that it works properly, change the brake pads and fluid, then go to the track.

It won't be the car making you slow and doing all those other things will be a waste of time.

Appears that the problem is between the steering wheel and the seat

I think revving the engine in neutral does not make the bov go off right?

Did you stall?
