H6 - Light weight crankshaft pulley

H6 - Light weight crankshaft pulley

Postby Tradewind » Wed Aug 07, 2013 8:46 pm

Possible new product - getting pushed from a couple of directions on this one

How about some light weight anodised crank pulleys similar to what the H4 crowd get

I have a attached an image of what other brands of lightweight pulleys look like - in the instance you have never seen one before.

Less mass on the crankshaft of the engine - more responsive/snappy

Anyone interested?

Adrian - yes we can do that

This sort of seems like a dumb question depending where your point of understanding is on matters such as this.

Why would you specifically want degree marks on a H6 crank pulley? I understand why they are critical on a H4 .......

It seems I will buy some stock from Garage 88 for a couple of overseas customers -

There is a story going around that the light weight pulleys from the BRZ will bolt right onto a H6 - I have not proven it myself. The only thing with the BRZ pulleys I understand they dont come with the nose cap

Have been in contact with G88 and certainly received a couple of replies from them but absolutely NO product to be seen anywhere yet.

Does anyone know of someone actually running one of these on an EZ30?
Do they just fit straight up cause grimspeed doesn't list the ez30 as an applicable engine. Dan from CarMods seems to think it wont be a problem & both AT & MT H6's would have a lot to gain from it. :D

Thoughts anyone??

Update on this

I came across this re lightweight pulley for H6 engines. I have no idea if they are compatible (diameter) with our supercharger kits

You reckon? the factory thing is just a lump of metal, the aftermarket one is just a lighter lump of metal. MOST Subaru pulleys have no elastomer rubber or anything else like that for vibration damping, unless H6 is different.
