Righto, thought I'd post a quick update on how things are going. I received the intake yesterday around 11am NZ time (Wednesday) and when lunch time came around, went and installed it (I took the stock intake out in the morning before work).
FOREWORDI've got the intake installed with these mods already:
- Raptor headers
- High flow cats (100cell - I don't recommend 100 cell by the way)
- Custom center pipe
- Xforce catback
So entire exhaust system is basically free flow, not an ounce of the original exhaust in place.
Car was also tuned before the intake (nine revisions including minor revisions).
SHIPPING/PACKAGINGShipping was really fast, arrived into NZ from Australia quicker than some shipping within NZ. All items were very well wrapped and protected. Heaps of bubble wrap.
FIRST THOUGHTS/BUILD QUALITYFirst thoughts were f**k that is HUGE. The intake diameter is over 100mm. Build quality is very good, the paint work is top notch. Very impressed.
INSTALLATIONInstall is simple as pie:
- Install metal shield assembly
- Connect silicon pipe
- Connect intake pipe with MAF mount
- Connect filter
- Bolt on the top of the metal assembly

TUNINGTuning is currently ongoing, but I've had three updates already from Ed and car is running awesome right now. Will post more when the tuning is done, but right now am very impressed. I think there is more power and loving the intake/engine sounds! Might be just me, but I think it has changed the tone of the exhaust.
I also haven't done a good decent drive along my usual routes and only have done the usual idle, cruise and gear pull tests. Will know more by the weekend on the general feel.
CURRENT THOUGHTSWell worth it. The build quality is very good, definitely looks good in the engine bay and is professional. Loving the change already to the engine. Tim is top notch with customer service and answering queries as usual. Tuning is going through Ed (XRT) and he's super helpful as well and a pleasure to deal with. He knows his way around the Subaru engines!
